I know scotty sees a lot of bad vehicles brought to him but honestly I've owned my 2018 ram 1500 with the 3. 6L v6 for over a year now and not a single problem with it for reliability it's got just over 40, 000km on it now which yes is just barely hitting the tip of the iceberg for really breaking it in but up here in ruggid canada where I daily the truck year round I've had no part failures and no electric problems. I've beaten the truck up a few times by taking it mudding and over revving it while doing so and taken it through some deep snow gotten it stuck up to its frame in deep snow and a quick tug out by an old 2nd gen dodge ram I was up and out of my hole just like that with no damage to the truck itself and no leaks of any kind. All in all Ford and Chevrolet aren't much better themselves they all make cheap parts these days and charge an arm and a leg for them.

Is there a certain year the GM's started to go down hill? I have a GMC '99 with a 4. 8 2wd regular cab and just love it. Just put in 16 hundred in it for front breaks and rotors and calibers and plugs for the first time of it's life and they still looked real good for the age and miles on them. 126, 000. The sad part is I could've done the work myself but I've gotten so lazy since I turned 60 and chose to pay someone else to do it. There were other things also that needed done like break lines and belts and the normal stuff done to a vehicle after a hundred thousand miles. The reason I ask cause if this one blows up I'll replace it with another GMC so knowing the year they started to go bad would be great. I have no problem buy something of 10 years or older truck. Thanks for your wisdom Scotty.

Hi Scotty. My husband was hanging on your every word, you always have his attention, but I only have eyes for those kitty-face cushions. Maybe you have had them for years, but I sure would like to know where you got them. oh hey, I just scrolled down, realising that surely I'm not the first to ask. Singapore huh? Is that so? Okay, well I guess I have to give up on that dream. How about offering Scotty's kitty-face cushions printed on tees in your merch store? They would have to be in a pretty wide size range though. How could anyone not want one? Scotty's kitty-face mugs? CHEERS

My elderly Mom bought a Subaru, hoping it would be her last car, sadly it was. She passed away after sinking thousands of dollars into it. Subaru extended the warranty head work to include in models up to 2012. She had a 2011 model, no recourse for her. She paid full price to have the head gaskets replaced. When she passed we sold her Subaru for 3000 to a family friend. We had an out of the blue request for higher, but we agreed it should go to the family friend. Sadly, they ended up having to pay thousands more for something else.

Scotty is right changing from automatic to a standard is a lot of work and takes alot of parts. I have changed a couple of them in my time. A Chevy pickup and a Plymouth Horizen and that Horizon was a total piece of garbage nothing but troube. But changing to a standard transmission did help the automatic transaxle in those was a joke. The Chevy pick up i changed not because the automatic was junk i just needed the standard for the work i was using it for in the oilfields.

Re MACH E: All the proposed specs are pretty much line ball with mid spec Model 3 and Model Y. Mark my words. Just like Porsche Taycan (with only 201 miles EPA range) Mache E will be late to market, will charge slower than promised, will have an EPA range WAAAAY lower than 300 miles and people will avoid it like the plague. Mercedes have only sold 55 of their EQC EVs in Germany so far. But Scotty will still prefer it over the Tesla.

Toyota has good anti corrosion? Maybe recently. I live in Canada older cars with no rust are Volvo the rest is cheap metal. Toyota metal safety and materials are cheap. Their reliability comes from not trying new things and not having anything but cheap interior with minimum things to go wrong. My Volvo has a Aisin transmission (same as Toyota) and a Volvo engine (possibly a better engine than Honda) the 5 cylinders
