I had a 97 Dodge Stratus with a Mitsu V6. It lasted 240k (11 years) with no major repairs. No rust either and I live in New England. A botched repair job at 230k spelled its doom, or it probably would have made it to 300k. Next was a Mitsu Galant with a 4 cylinder with lasted to about 190k, but the started having major issues. I let it go at 216k. So not as good as the V6. Not sure where their quality is these days, but they were decent cars for the price.

My dad used to sell Dodge cars and wanted me to buy a Dodge Raider which was a rebadged 2 door one of these. Was a neat car but I was put off by the price and poor gas mileage. I bought a Suzuki Samara which was a great car and got great mpg Years latter my dad even admitted that I made a good choice I think these were pretty much a flop in the USA with most potential buyers going instead with Isuzu Troopers which were very popular

As long as its a manual and doesnt have a shotty gm 2. 8l and its got a diesel or isuzu 4 banger she run for ever. I run 32 inch tires on my stock trooper. Just a torsion crank and good to go. Could for 33s but want some room. Only downfall is tje Aiden auto lockers suck. If you got 5 speed it comes with auto hubs. If a automatic comes with manual locking hubs.

Im 55 yrs old now and started buying Mitubishis since I was in college. Over the years I had a Mirage, several Monteros, and an Outlander now. While the brand is not as great as they once used to be, still a good car for the money compared to other Japanese cars. Back when I was in college, you could buy a new Mirage for 5500.

My 1998 Mitsubishi Montero sport xls CPU and the transmission TCM got Fry after my battery safety harness became loose and broke and made contact with the frame or something. I just had both of the heads gone to machine shop I had worked on the engine and fix it. Its a 3. 0L 2 wheel drive 173 HP Torque 188 ft lbs.

A problem with these mitsi turbo diesels is they have a VE type rotary injection pump which is belt driven by the timing belt, the pump shaft has only 2 very small sintered bronze bushes as the front bearing behind the pulley and they fail due to the side load from the belt tension.

Philippines Mitsubishi Pajeros are better than that since there is no snow, and most owner are rich, so generally in our country most owners are politicians, businessman, executives, and they well maintained those pajeros. Id like to own a pajeros even a used one in Philippines.

80s and 90s Mitsubishis were damn rock solid. Sold my Montero ( Pajero in other nations) with 250k still runnning strong. Currently driving a 1997 Mirage Coupe as a beater car and the thing wont die. Not a bad looking coupe by the way. Too bad Mitsubishi after 00s lost its mojo.

1989, the year when Finland had record high car sale statistics. Almost 177000 new passenger cars were sold in that year, one of them being that Mitsubishi Pajero. Last year (2017) just 117000 new passenger cars were sold here. Our cars are among the oldest ones in EU.
