I'm not a fan of turbo 4 cylinder engines. I've found that they are prone to problems of all kinds and they just don't hold up. But, if I was to have just one I would love to have a 1985 1/2 Mustang SVO. They had bad turbo lag but they were a really fun car. Finding one now is next to impossible. Even one that needs a full engine rebuild is costly.

On most turbo cars most people don't start or stop them correctaly when you start it let it IDLE for a second or two so the I'll can get their the turbo can spin 120000 rpm with no oil when you stop let it IDLE a bit to cool the turbo or the I'll will boil and turn rock hard cloging oil ports

Going to agree with Scotty here, as a Ford parts man stay way the hell away from any of those escapes. If its not complete engine rebuild its PTU failures. We rebuild five or six of them a week where I work, and were a relatively small shop

The majority of people who buy cars don't realize or don't bother to do proper maintenance. A GDI engine needs fuel system service every 30-50k miles to remove intake carbon buildup. The average car buyer refuses to do proper maintenance.

Don't die man. But can you at least tell me how to fix my Jaguar x type, before you talk like that? Sometimes it acts like it's gasping for air and it wants to turn off and sometimes it does turn off, any suggestions?

Scotty what do you think about CRDe engines reliability and maintenance cost? Are those reliable? I have a 4x4 With borgwarner transfercase. I have a mild rough usage and I drive about 120-150 kms a day approx.

I have a 1. 6l Ecoboost with 65, 000. Just changed the oil and my mechanic did a full health check. It is in excellent condition. What are these ppl doing to destroy these motors?
