Scotty I'm sorry you also had to grow up is shitty NYS. I grew up in WNY. That whole state is a dead stick, ruined by liberals. If I rarely visit now it's always tremendously depressing. I'm glad you escaped too. Did you see where the Governor issued a blanket order for EMTs to not restart your heart now because he wants more people to die from covid-19 for dramatic effect. EMTs won't do that because they're sworn by something the government of NY doesn't have. ETHICS and INTEGRITY! Also, it's illegal for them to not even try unless certain legal definitive signs of death are present, you know like being burned to a crisp or missing your head or rigor mortis etc. Anyway you slice it NY, run by the liberal fascist marxist democrats, sucks!

Scotty, I've been a huge fan and I've watched your videos ever since I was a wee lil boy til now being an adult with their own vehicle. I love your content but, we need to talk here. lol. Stop driving a cold engine/transmission hard! I know you're a highly experienced mechanic but, you can't outrun physics and cold metal that aren't at rated clearances/tolerances until warmed up mixed with cold engine oil that doesn't have the proper flow characteristics until at operating temp is not a good time to put anything under higher loads (i. e. accelerating hard after just leaving the driveway. Makes my mechanical sympathy go buck wild! lol

I have 3 Hyundai Veracruz's. 2008 -216, 000 miles, another 2008- 191, 000 miles, 2007- 195, 000 miles. Big v6, they have aisin transmissions(same as toyotas. My cars are absolutely perfect. I have never had to replace anything on them. Just fluids, belts, brakes. All drive perfectly. Before that i had 2 - 2006 sonatas. 220, 000 miles and 140, 000 miles. Never replaced a single part on those either. I also had a Kia Sedona-2006 with 120, 000 miles. Again, never had to replace a single part. I think Scotty associates all Hyundais with the econo boxes they came out with in the 90's.

04 Kia Sportage. Wife drives it everyday. Changed plugs and some minor things at 75k and has been smooth as silk since. 150k now. It has the 4x4 and is a beast in the snow. Nothing fancy about it but it has been a very reliable, small SUV. Got a new f150 and they offered 2k trade in for the Kia. I told em I'd keep it for that much and drive it til it breaks. Wife really wanted a new vehicle at first. I gave her 500 at the end of the month and told her the Kia pays us every month to drive it instead! 1500 later and she was convinced! Lol

Would love to ask you a question, I have a 2007 toyota avalon that started dying overnight, every morning we had to jump it, changed the battery worked fine a couple of weeks had the alternator check they said it was fine, then it started doing the same thing we left it for 2 days and then jumped it again now the vsc light is on and so is the check engine light and when we try to drive it the gas would not work it just moves forward when you put it in drive but when gas is pressed it will not pick up speed. please help.

A relative of mine bought a 2015 Santa Fe with the naturally aspirated 2. 4 liter 4 cylinder in 2017. So far, she's really happy with it and it's had no issues. Also on the comment about the Chrysler 300, a friend of mine has an '05 300C with 130k miles. Her daily driver, and it hasn't had too many issues. Transmission shifts like butter, because the Hemi powered 300 and Charger use the Mercedes 5G-Tronic transmission. The V6 300 uses a Chrysler transmission, and those were the ones with the problems.

Sound like he us describing a 1967 Toyota. Toyotas were cheap when they first arrived. Disposable after 3 or 4 years. Toyota went on to build top quality vehicles. Mazda was the same. Hyundai is doing the same. first few years they were cheap disposable vehicles. Their quality is getting better every year. Same with KIA. Nissan went from disposable to quality vehicles and now back to disposable. Hyundai and KIA keep encroaching on Toyota. Meanwhile Chrysler and GM continue to down slide on quality.

in the time frame the sun was born, hyundai and kia didn't invest much in ride quality nor did they have the database. they focused more on reliability: a car that would still run after 150k 200k miles. so it tells that these car makers have somewhat succeeded. in recent years they've hired ex BMW designers and engineers to improve the drive quality and joy(its their slogan i believe) fancy leathers, infotainment, performance etc. so they are getting better at making cars.
