The best cars you can buy for under 10, 000 RJ: I had two 300zx's. They were great cars - the first one was a non-rusty 85 turbo, but it was an automatic that I eventually wrote off on a deer. The second one was a non-turbo 5 speed that I swapped the turbo onto. It was a very, very fun car, but it was soo rusty that I was not ready to deal with. I'd say go for it! As long as the rust isn't bad (or you can fix it) then they are awesome cars - Even in 'stock' form they can make decent power by increasing the boost by 3PSI. Heck, a few guys were able to get 400+ WHP with a bigger turbo, better fueling, and an intercooler (no work on the engine itself. Despite being 'tiny' cars, they can compete really well with American muscle/pony cars.

Serious question for people more knowledgeable than me. Are the new Jeep Cherokees any good? I've heard of transmission issues in the 14-15 model years especially. Would get 16 plus. I really like the look of the car but I don't want a POS. I hear what some people say but I don't put a lot of miles on my car at all I just want to roll around in a car that's not 20 years old anymore. Love my CR-V but want something newer. I just don't want to be screwed over. No other car really appeals to me on the way it looks. I know I should be looking at a Toyota or another Honda but not a big fan of the way they look and to pricey. My budget is 15, 000. Don't want another sedan to low to the ground for my liking. My old car was a 2001 Acura 3. 5 rl I miss it a lot but was to much to fix to pass inspections.

Have a 2009 Ford Focus with over 215, 000 miles! No issues at all! Only did routine maintenance, oil changes 3500-4000 miles, brakes, belts at 100, 000, power steering pump went at about 185, 000 miles. Didn t do at tune-up until 200, 000 due to a spark plug got lose in the cylinder, what a mess but my husband forced to do the tune up with the power packs. Love my Ford Focus, still getting average of 35mpg. Still have original pressure plate this is a stick. Holding onto this car very hard to find cars with standard transmissions. My Focus bakes my husband to do ALL maintenance and repairs, one of the best cars I ever owned.

Hello Scotty! I own a 2008 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road and just love it! I have had a few minor issues with it but it is the truck I have ever owned! I used to be a Chevy guy but after the problems I had with a brand new 2001 S10 I switched. The new Tacoma's aren't as good. Drove one as a loaner when I was getting rear leaf springs replaced on recall. They did away with the 4. 3 engine and went to the 3. 5. Big difference! That motor zings going down the highway. Been looking for a good used Tundra to pull my camper. Suggestions!

Up here in the sister country to China, Canada, went to a Toyota dealership today to pursue as I am in the market to replace my trusty and true 22 yr old Subaru, that is right Scotty, 22 yr dependable Subaru. Anyways looking for a truck either Ford or Tacoma, a new 4Runner with the TRD package is just under 70 grand here, no thanks, I want used but even a 10 to 14 yr old Tacoma is in the range of 15 to 20 plus thousand. keep hearing how this virus is killing the economy, sure isnt doing anything to the prices of cars.

I'm amazed by the Mercedes and BMW bashing that goes on by Scotty. Yes, the repairs are extortionate, BUT, here in Europe, especially Mercedes, these cars easy have 300k+ on em. I appreciate you never see a BMW as old as a Merc, but still decent with the Mercedes really clicking up high mileage. I fully appreciate also that these brands that are made in the US are pure cr p. Every model that is made in the US, that gets brought back to Europe for sale, is reworked to make sure it's put together right.

Scotty you told a viewer that his 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT that has engine slap is not worth rebuilding. I have a 2013 with 102850 miles that started making a ticking sound. It had the NU engine that is known to be made incorrectly. Hyundai just put a new engine in my car for free. I changed my oil every 5K with synthetic. Once the dealership open it up and sent pictures bo other questions were asked. There is a lawsuit about it. If he has the NU engine he should see the dealership.

Well Scotty, I've got a 2007 Avalon, bought it in 09 still in factory warranty. Not that it ever needed it. Other than routine maintenance, and I'm a stickler for maintaining my vehicles, I've never had a problem with her. Now she's up to 84k miles. I'm in my 60's now and don't plan on ever buying another car. I like it as much today as the day I bought it. Garage kept all its life, still looks like new, fast, and handles well too.

I am sorry for everyone buying toyota, especially for Scotty. The BMW community is really strong, and they'll help you with diagnostics, but buying just K+DCAN cable and installing INPA program is enough for the most problems. E46, E39 will have some problems with electronics but let's be honest it's better to repair electric mirrors, heating seats mat or even repair VANOS. Than heaving 80 HP car without the above features.

I have a 2013 camry SE that I can probably sell for around 12g. I would like to save up for a 2016 or 2017 v6 mustang and throw a twin turbo kit in there (super six motorsports has a kit where some of the parts can be found in a salvage yard) Good Idea? I'm only 19 and don't have tons of cash to blow on this thing. Anyone have any advice? The whole build has to stay below 20 grand preferably.
