Heres Why Car Commercials are Lying to You drwisdom1: Regarding TV commercials and advertisements in general, there are red flag indicators that scream at you they are trying to deceive you. If your product or service is good then you can statistically prove it. For instance, the percent of owners that buy the same make of car again or the average number of years the first buyer of a type of car keeps it. But if you dont have statistical facts on your side, then you have to resort to testimonial data, which is cherry picked if not outright lies or abstract happy talk. Testimonial data is just a modern implementation of the old medicine show. Dont fall for it Other advertising red flags that indicate KEEP AWAY are phony awards, use of the word free but requiring the payment of money, indicating you are smart to purchase the product, and time restrictions that require that you make a quick decision.

Having driven a number of Gen 1, 2 & 3 Honda CR-Vs and owning a 2004 myself. Occasionally between 1500rpm and say 2700rpm you may experience a vibration. To stop this either accelerate or decelerate and the vibration while stop. I have read about this common issue on various sites, forms, etc people offer various remedies and cures but I have come across no definitive answer of what causes this issue and a permanent fix for the issue. Unless the issue is constant and is not resolved by what I mentioned before with the modulation of the accelerator then there is something significantly wrong. Other than that these are solid vehicles virtually Bulletproof and the 2. 4L K-series engine is by far one of the best engines Honda has ever produced. I would have no qualms about buying another. Regardless have someone inspect the vehicle.

Hi, Scotty, I watching you from a very long time, I have some questions for you which I think nobody put it for you on youtube: .What is your opinion of having a LPG system on your car? This will negatively affect the engine? I heard that LPG is good for engine because lack of knocking but if you push it hard will affect the valves. could you bring me some pro and cons? I want to put it on a Honda Civic 1. 8 i-VTEC FK/FN chassis (EU-version)I had a Toyota Yaris 1. 0 vvt-i with an LPG system and it was brilliant. I had 70 mpg in city conditions and 94 mpg in highway conditions I calculated the consumption by filling the tank, not looking to ECU numbers. But now I have a bigger car. :)In Romania LPG system is without an oil system. Costs me about 800 to put it on my car.

I dont know how it is in America but here in Europe car journalists shamelessly support the lies of the car industry instead of informing the consumers. Just today I read an article claiming how much better internal infotainment systems are for navigation. Come on, theyre not, they cost more than the most expensive smartphone on the market, dont even have quite the performance and the shitty road maps are never up-to-date (while they charge a lot for updates as well, neither are the traffic informations. I prefer a simple smartphone holder and run Waze. Oh, their key argument was that the internal navigation uses the cars audio. Never heard of bluetooth I guess.

I have a 2002 Rav4 that I paid 3000. 00 Canadian for. The Rav4 is a 17 year old vehicle and doesnt have overly complicated electronics and I can still fix everything myself. I tend to differ when it comes to buying older vehicles as most older vehicles (around the year 2000) are way easier to fix DIY home mechanics. The downside is parts may be slightly harder to get for older vehicles so it becomes a catch 22. Buy a car that you can afford and able to fix yourself (and hope you can find parts for your car) or buy a later model car (that is easier to get parts for) that is full of electronics that you have to take to a shop to fix if something goes wrong.

Anyone on this site. I am thinking of buying a VW Routan 2010 with 80000 for 6000. It is the SEL premium model with all the bells and whistles. A mechanic check it and only found the transmission panel was leaking. I took it to a repair shop and it would cost 180 to fix and they did another inspection on the vehicle which was the same. I am just planning to have it for three years. I know they are not greatest vehicles (Volkswagen + Chrysler = not good, but not planning on wasting 48k for a new van. In the Kelly blue book it is at about 10k. I dont think Scotty would answer my question. Thank you for your time folks.

Hey Scotty, love your channel been watching for about a month and a half now. I am just getting into restoring/modding old VWs as a hobby. I was wondering which year and model makes the most sense for investment and why. Which is easiest to source for parts, easiest to work on, easiest to alter/modify, has the best engine swap options. Also can you please make the best argument for why this is not a huge waste of money. I am going to have to convince my wife that I can actually make it work and am not going to lose my kids college fund.

Hi Scotty, I live in NYC and have a 2015 Honda CRV with 47K miles on used for driving to work and buying groceries. I a have trailer hitch that is just there to scare and prevent other cars from bumping into my car so I dont tow nor load any heavy objects in/on to a car. Right now I am about to replace the rear right side bearings because the annoying wobbling noise is becoming unbearable. Previously at 36K I had to replace the rear left bearings. Why bearings are dying so fast on me? Please help.

Kias took off real nicely once it was certain Saturn was doomed. The older Saturns were cool though, 1990 up to about 2002. Kia steals the customers from pricey brands & present something with lower maintenance costs, higher reliability, while maintaining some sense of style. Its getting harder and harder to find new cars of any type(eco-box, sports, luxury, family) under the 20k price point. and sadly, the under 12k is long gone & dead. along with Saturn. and the late 1990s, LOL
