I\'m Sick of This Car Rating Scam and I\'m Going to Stop It Missy: My dad's 2000 caravan has around 200, 000 miles on it, has never had the valve covers covers off, and the original transmission still shifts perfectly. Electronics work perfectly too. The most expensive repairs have been a fuel pump and some A/C work. Seems pretty good to me. He's been very happy. My 2009 Challenger has been a great car, despite it's Mercedes parts. Every car company has created a piece of junk at some point. I think people are harder to please than ever, we all want instant gratification and perfection, and this leads to some variables in surveys like JD powers. I was in the auto industry as well and agree that Toyota builds a great product, and that becomes especially noticable when certain vehicles cross the 100, 000 mile threshold. But initial quality is tighter than ever and if you keep your customer just a bit happier than the competition (kiss their posterior, you can beat the competition an any given day.

What's funny about this rant is that J. D. Power is not to be trusted (because they accept payments) and it's only based on initial quality, not long term quality. I agree. But Scotty would like to be considered the only authority because he is a mechanic. Maybe that's fair. But, reliability is not the only reason people buy cars. Toyotas like the Carolla and Camry are not very comfortable, roomy or have much performance. So, who cares if they are reliable? People buy what makes them happy. Even if it costs more or doesn't last as long. Move on Scotty, give this subject a rest. You are hell bent on proving something of little value. Sorry. Keep making all the other great videos. We love those.

Because even a bogus car award organization such as J. D. Power knows Tesla is garbage and Fiat Chrysler is put at the top is not just because of their fact of being garbage but because they are cheaper than the competitors in every way from build quality to reliability and longevity! Just imagine how terrible it would be if every vehicle was full electric and there are charging stations for every single make and model flooding the landscape, you think waiting 15 minutes for a gas pump is bad imagine having to wait 4 to 6 hours before you can charge your car and then wait another 4 or so hours for yours to charge I gotta see this in this snappy everything as fast as possible world

Regarding your rapid charging stations per capita observation. Again, you imply that fast charging stations need to exist in the same proportions to electric vehicles (EVs) as filling stations to ICE vehicles. That is not the case; the vast majority of EV charging is done at the drivers' homes. And while it's true that existing charging networks couldn't support existing long-distance traffic volumes if all the vehicles were electric, so what? All vehicles _aren't_ electric. yet. As the population of EVs grows, infrastructure will keep pace.

The JD Power rating is very specific. It's a rating for initial quality, i. e. the number of issues that new buyers report within the first 90 days of ownership. It's simply a tally of all the issues given; it's not a judgment on which issues are more severe than others. It doesn't rank reliability, longevity, features, comfort, styling, gas mileage, etc. So when Toyota ranks lower on the list it's usually because owners had a lot of problems with the infotainment system or something that shouldn't be a deal breaker.

When I saw Dodge was #1 I laughed my butt off. What a joke. I've made a mistake and trusted FCA twice. One constantly over heating Avenger and crappy quaking Jeep Renegade later and I've learned my lesson. My friends that own FCA products have all sorts of problems. Nothing even consistent, always something random. I could see if it were just one consistent problem component but when everything falls off, it's the Crappy company

I know JD Powers is a commercial advertising agency. They just use a psuedo-poll format as a vehicle for pushing their clients' products. I always assume that if a manufacturer will afford to hire JDP, their product is of poor quality and need not be considered by me. That may not be a reliable or fair response, but its a down and dirty way to remove the crap before getting down to a serious analysis.

Yeah while I do own a Charger I also agree that dodge shouldn t have ever been #1. They do build pretty great engines, that s the star of the vehicle most of the time! But there are more reliable cars than dodge. That s mostly due to the cheap parts put into dodge cars, and that most people driving them beat them up. But if you take care of it it ll last very long like any other car.

Hello guys and gals. I have a question regarding hybrid cars. In the near future I would love to buy a hybrid car, at least 5 years old. Will it be a problem if it's electric motor won't work at maxim potential? I'm asking because I won't love to invest in a new car, or on a new electric motor and batteries. Just to be clear, I am looking for either a Camry, or a Lexus sedan.

Just wanted to clarify, that the electrification infrastructure being built by VW is not by CHOICE. The diesel gate scandal as it s known was VW engineers that created a cheat to pass emissions when the car was connected to EPA machines. The settlement after they were found guilty by the American government was to create charging stations all over America. FYI
