Ford, Chev, Dodge, Toyota etc etc etc. It seems like there is a pattern of poor design forming. There also seems to be a pattern of discontinuing models after a decade or so. It's almost as though a model gets discontinued just as all the common defects start to show up on mass. You know? Like this particular model rusted prematurely around the fuel filler, or the timing chain failed at 80, 000 or the engine failed at 100, 000 because sludge build up due to poor design. We see this time and again. I doubt it's an engineering oversight. I think all these senseless looking flaws are actually on purpose. It is, at least, one plausible explanation for the sheer mass of mechanical problems people put up with all these modern POS vehicles on the market.

I blame socialism for the poor quality of today's automobiles. Back in 2008, the governmemt should of let GM & Chrysler go bankrupt for their bad business practices, instead of rewarding their irresponsibke behaviors by bailing them out. Now responsible companies like Ford & Toyota are forced to bring the quality of their automobiles down in order to compete with these irresponsible businesses. GM is owned by a bunch of banksters, not automobile enthusiasts. At least Chrysler is still owned by an automobile manufacturer. I bought my 2018 RAM because it was 10K+ cheaper vs a comparable V8 Ford or Toyota. I plan on keeping it forever & replacing broken cheap parts with higher quality parts.

Having to check gaps has always been a thing. The plugs get jounce and bounced during shipment, though in my experience they have usually ended more too small rather than too big. Also the gap for the same plug in different engines may be different. For example back in the 60's the Champion N14Y plug was used in both some Chrysler and AMC engines. But they were gapped differently for different applications. If Memory serves, one company had you gap them at 0. 3O and the other at 0. 32. When both companies changed to electronic ignition they both raised the gap, one to 0. 35 and the other all the way to 0. 42.

My jeep cherokee 2017 north edition is junk and its not a 4 cylinder and i love the suv and love everything about it other than its complete junk. I just hit 36, 101 miles and factory warranty has fixed the Rear end diff twice now. The CPU for the transmission even though i told them its gotta be the rear end again. They replaced the shifting harness and bevel since it would say service shifter and go into some kind limp mode but id shut it off and turn it back on and it would go away before they fixed it. i wish i listened to scotty but it was around the time i just started watching him.

People wont listen. Keep telling them big cars need large motors its how it is. All these gimmicky motors non electric to save gas is not worth the headache. . My truck alway always gets a V8 period. Go talk to a Ford technician ask them what they would buy V8 or echoboost. Its always the same answer V8 less plumbing. One more thing with the Hemi 5. 7 use 89 octane its recommended aka right from the manual. Scotty is spot on with this one.

So. been trying to do some research on the Honda 1. 5L engines. I can't find any reports confirming or denying if Honda's fixed those engines in the newest models. Seems like starting from 2019, the issue's gone away. Can/can't confirm? Was originally thinking about a 2020 Civic Si, but I might just wait for a 2023 Civic Type R. can't go wrong with a K series (the 1. 5L GDI with issues is an L-series engine, not a fan.

Plastic here, plastic there, plastic everywhere. Now from my personal experience Ford makes decent vehicles. Some models are better than others but they are usually better made than a GM vehicle or especially a Dodge/Chrysler. But even then I wouldn't want a turbocharged gasoline engine from anyone. Not even Honda or Toyota. If I had a turbo I would have it on a diesel. They are much more heavy duty.

It's a shame that the new toyota tundra and Sequoia are gonna now be twin turbo v6's instead of an na v8. That kills it for me I was gonna get a new truck and now I have no options left other than the venerable honda Ridgeline na v6. Least junky truck on the market right now the reliability ratings are looking really darn good too. The 4 cyl Tacoma is too cramped inside its ridiculous.

My 2009 Charger R/T only has 56, 000 miles. I bought it 3 years ago with 12, 000 miles on it. Only probs I've had are the tire pressure sensors which I don't even worry about, because I check with a gauge anyway and I had to replace the brake master cylinder. Popped it right in and away I went.
