The first time I seen an Audi up close as a mechanic student someone brought in an Audi with a 5 cylinder engine. Later that day the teacher was explaining firing timing on 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engines I asked what about timing with a 5 cylinder engines like that Audi? The teacher was completely discouraged, looking at me like these grease monkeys won't get this

I still don't understand why Audi and VW are reliable cars in Europe while in the US they are not. Perhaps their unreliability is proportional to the distance from Germany LOL. Realistically speaking i think because Audi have to use petrol engines with lots of HP to satisfy the american taste. While here a 150 hp diesel engine is more than enough, at least in Italy

im a DIE HARD TOYOTA/LEX FAN but Scotty give them a break lol It's a potential, if it's a voluntary recall it means that they are likely keeping a close eye on it, every company may have their fair share. I mean this is a new technology and EV isn't a PB and J sandwich lol. I don't like any VW products but I'm giving them a pass until further notice

Hey Scotty what do you think about a 2006 Honda Accord V6 top-line with 60k miles for 6250? The owner already did an expensive job at the dealer (timing belt + all fluids) with a very small leak at rear main seal ( identified 6 years ago) but it's not driping.

Yes electric cars. No Thant you, I will stick with petrol or diesel without computers or electrics. Mine is 20 years old. Done 130000 MLS. Engine rebuilt and totally re built mechanicals. And is great. Oh it's an Audi A3. It's not pretty but does want it says on the tin.

No Scotty I like manuals until a long traffic jam and the clutch burns out again. Clutches don't last and they aren't tough enough for real world driving. THAT'S why auto makers are phasing them out. Good design on paper but not practical in real road conditions.

What good is better gas mileage if the car doesn't last. How much energy is saved if you have to junk it and buy another one. If you have to replace a motor or transmission or other parts. It takes energy to make all this stuff.
