Hi Scotty. Could u do a video on name badge engineering? Lately Mazda seems to be the industry toy. Like the Ford Focus/Mazda3, Yaris is made by Mazda now, and clearly the new ones all look inspired from the previous Ford/Mazda generations. I understand each manufacturer uses potentially 100s of suppliers for every car, but when be do you draw the line between making a pile of dung berries and putting a label on it that says -Ford- -Mazda-TOYOTA pie. Feels like to me, manufacturers don't want liability for anything on themselves. Like if my Mazda blows up at 40k miles and it's scrap, but I (knowing because I've seen and everyone knows) look under the hood, see Ford everywhere on more parts than Mazda, Its more challenging to write off both companies you see what I'm saying?

Ill never forget my relative had that shelby years ago, and we went somewhere and we stop to go in, and I got a force of habit to lock the door and he goes what are you doing? I say locking the door, he goes leave it open, then he literally throws the keys out on the front seat in plain view. I ask what are you doing? He says damn car I hope it gets stolen Its worth more if it gets stolen then to get rid of it. True story.

What is your opinion on a 2008 Honda Element EX 2WD (only FWD) just to save fuel? I am slightly a fan of these vehicles, as well as the regular five-speed automatic transmission, which is a huge improvement over the four-speed automatic transmission from Honda. I am thinking about getting a Element for my first vehicle, because it has vehicle stability assist (VSA, which is Honda's electronic stability control (ESC.

i loved when i went though craigslist and all original parts on the car, yet the dash said differently. original 70k miles my butt. just say u got it replaced, parts can wear out. but with a truck im sure its abused lol. esp when the dash reads 070, 000. there shouldnt be a zero in the front. i was told if u see it, walk away. ur risking it if u try it.

Hes so right. I was a driver for a big junkyard in Vegas, we delivered to pretty much every dealership and shop big and small in the valley. I remember 6(in the 4 months I was there) engines that before the mechanic signed off pulled the drain plug and got straight chocolate milk, water in the oil. No telling how many others were sold and not checked.

Scotty, My 2010 Suzuki Kizashis CVT transmission stopped working, not engaging, Slipping, just gave up at 148, 000 miles, I figured I got all I could out of the car, but since they dont import Suzuki cars in the US anymore, it wasnt even worth it. It would have cost more to fix than the car was worth. Any idea, who made those Suzuki CVTs?

The Shelby Dodges from the 1980s were true shelbys, not just slapping the name on. The cars were shipped from Michigan to the shelby factory in Whittier, CA. That is where the performance options were put on. Yes, I owned one. I disagree with Scotty, I don't think they were ugly. I do agree that the Dodge cars they were based on were not well built.

Shouldve listened to your advice. Bought a 2019 Mazda 3 hatch. This car has soo many little software gremlins. Like the high beams flashing drivers randomly. Or the keyless entry not working. Or the several recalls. Wont buy a Mazda again. Im done. Going to a Honda type R. Any tips for keeping it a long time or just general advice? Thanks

About that question at 4: 23. US made Toyotas are every bit as good as jspec Toyotas. Not just Camrys, but the venerable Toyota reliability king, the Tacoma, has been made in the US all along. As with most problems, the issue is not the workers, or where it's done. It's the original design and management.
