Not to be that guy, but wouldn't it be the solenoid contacts welded together? If this happens to you, you can temporarily fix get to where you need to be by pulling the starter fuse after it is running. If you need to restart, leave key in the on position and replace the fuse and pull back out. Don't do this unless you need to It will start to melt the contacts of the fuse every time and spark (it is under load. Back in the day I would just replace the solenoid since the starter motor is still operating. It would be within a year or two before you are back under there replacing the starter motor though (not always)

I did a stint as an alternator and starter rebuilder at a small shop outside Fort Atkinson, WI in the early 80's. One of my jobs was disassembling 55 gallon barrels of cores and then sandblasting the pieces. Not a lot of fun. Alternators and starters for the big 3 American carmakers would reliably shell out at about 125, 000 miles or earlier. The owner told me one day if I had to rely on Japanese trade I would starve to death. I just put a starter on my 2006 Chevy Uplander with 240, 000 miles on it. That was the original factory starter. I suppose the original alternator is not far behind. Rock Auto baby

It's a lot easier putting them in than it is taking them out, especially when they're 24 years old. Everytime he puts that picture up of that guy, you know there's an innuendo coming: D LOLI just think of Scotty spotting all these during editing. That one killed me though and I'm glad I didn't have a mouthful of tea, especially when he said especially when they're 24 years old. That floored me, haha

hey scotty just had a valve head cover gasket and plugs done localy, next long drive the car makes a sudden horrible noise and smells all burny, I pull over and get towed. I've not not looked at it yet, but if the problem was caused by the work I just had done, whats the deal? Can I ask for some kind of compensation or is it all on me?

Hey Scotty, I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze eco with the GM 1. 4L. Twice, Ive replaced the valve cover because the integrated PCV valve failed. Is this a common problem on vehicles with that PCV system (Non-rebuildable PCV valve) or is it a bad design, in general?

when you are reasonably wealthy, you think about the money you will be saving by doing it yourself, and then think about getting dirty and sweaty doing it yourself, and sayforget that, I'll just pay someone else to do it.
