This Ford F-150 Has a Serious Problem palebeachbum: Aside from a throttle cable snapping, which was a rarity, they never had problems. Now these electronic throttles, they're a mess. They always seem poorly programmed too. Every vehicle I've driven with an electronic throttle always has this weird on/off sensation at initial tip in. I hate it. It's hard to pull away smoothly without jumping the throttle in some of these vehicles. When you're chirping tires unintentionally in a car with 132 ft-lbs of torque, you know something ain't right in the calibration.

i got a 2000 eddie bauer ford excursion V-10 with a problem i cant figure out. ive got in it twice and cant get it to start. all the instruments light up but the motor does nothing like theres no electricity. a hour later it cranks and runs fine. i recently had the battery replaced. i thought it might be a key going bad but the ford place said the theft light would flash fast while trying to start it but theres no unusual flashing and they said they cant tell me anything unless it wont crank for them. have you heard of or seen anything like this before or have any ideas?

2012 was the first year for OBD3 management systems which ruled that the throttle linkage could no longer be directly controlled by the driver hence the elimination of a physical throttle cable. The goal is to remove as many physical and direct access for the driver and instead use the computer to control the vehicle. All done of course in the name of safety but in reality to make vehicles vulnerable to outside input. Everything I own is 2011 and older, actually 2010 and older to avoid any early adoption of OBD3 systems.

Electronic throttles just more ways that hackers can kill you. I wouldn't own anything past 2005. After that cell phone chips in every car computer. an option where your car can report or you can get help, but they just put them in every computer and if you paid more you could use that option. But hackers could get in thru that chip and kill you. The mob used them in Boston so it was referred to as Boston brakes. Mob, CIA smart hitman, ect don't like you than stay pre 2006.

Im not a fan of drive by wire. Too much lag time, response time is dangerously slow in my opinion. My 66 Chevy has instantaneous throttle response and zero lag time and it is all linkage. New cars are for people with no mechanical inclination or skill. Heck, they have cars now that drive in reverse and parallel park themselves. No skill or brains needed and we are just making people dumber and dumber. Sigh.

My goodness. I've owned 10 20 and 25 year old vehicles my whole life, never paid much. Ford Escort, Focus, Civic, Protege, manufacturer be darned they all outlast the computerized crap that companies are putting out now. I had a 2015 F-150 and while it never broke down my goodness the repair costs. Never again, I bought a 15 year old Focus and it's dirt cheap and reliable.

i have a 2012 impala that has the service stable trac thing come on and it goes in limp mode from time to time, some people say to replace the throttle body (there is a code that does come up too, i forget what that code is when i hook up a scan tool) do you think replacing that would fix it and it being GM do you think i need to reprogram that?

Footnote in history: Ford Motors founder Henry Heinrich Ford was a highly decorated, staunch supporter of hitler's nazi Germany. Ford was awarded the Grand Cross of the German Eagle. The Grand Cross was the highest medal Nazi Germany could bestow on a foreigner and Ford would be the only American to receive the award. Lest we forget.

I had this same issue years ago on my 05 F150 with the 5. 4; in 2011 there was no fix and the part was outrageously expensive, so I just messed with the flapper, kept opening and closing it forcefully and for the next 6 years I never had that problem ever again, drove it all over the US without that issue anymore. Crappy Ford design.

I had the same problem with my 2013 mustang. All the Ford mad in 2012 had the same problem including Ford edge as they have the same engine. You should have included in the video to check the manufacturing date. Mine was 2016 so problem is gone and it have better throttle response. Thanks for the awesome video as usual.
