Alright guys, the new Frecciarossa! This train will rival SNCF on the Paris to Milan route and also Paris-Lyon! Take a look at the fancy accommodation, the Executive car! What do you think about this new service? - TRIP INFORMATION - RECORDED IN DECEMBER 2021 Railroad company: Trenitalia Train type: Frecciarossa 1000 (Zefiro family) From: Paris Gare de Lyon to Milano Centrale Time: 6h41 Price: 159- - 179$
Date: 2024-01-09

I am an Italian living half-an hour away from London. On weekdays, you pay around 32 pounds return for a ticket. On weekends it is good as the price is around 12 pounds. The train service in this country is crap because it's in the hands of different companies which run different routes. Privatisation (thank you Thatcher -) has only benefited the private companies, and now they are planning to close a huge amount of ticket offices up and down the country, with the loss of many jobs. So, that is privatisation for you. In Italy the railway services are still in public hands. Here they say that British rail was a disaster, well, it doesn't seem to me that privatisation has improved things. The only thing that has improved is the money in the pockets of the fat cats!

I am an ex pilot, ex ship driver and a train driver. I-m sure there people who like these silent documentaries, but for my own part I would much more like a commentary that describes what is happening, information, facts, technical data.
Above all these silent -passenger experience- film are just utterly ridiculous, especially when we don-t get to see the face of whoever is showing the film. You don-t tell the viewer anything.
You have done nothing but buy a ticket and then record from your phone while travelling, thinking you are making some kind of documentary. Have you ever seen a report from a normal travel report that does not show the reporter? You-re making an ass of yourself.
This kind of -reporting- is crap.

Surprised to see they brought sheep on the train did they poke a whole in your mask so you could wear it while you we-re dining? A year ago and the cattle in the station all masked up like they would protect them. Very well behaved cattle they got just what they deserved. I loved the tour through the Alps and great Visio-s but the obedient slave rules ruined it for me, SANITARY PASS TO BOARD THE TRAIN? Pure insanity on steroids really sad to see these cattle so obedient to the tyranny of the slavemasters

Very informative video. This is what I will take next time. NEVER MORE TGV! The French TGV was dirty, the windows so dirty! plus no service, bad attitude, and this came after my French rental car broke down, so I had to take the train, and got horrible service and horrible attitude from French Rental Car company too. Viva Italian trains. No more French trains. No more France for me, and I speak fluent French!

Executive Class? You must be joking. If there is no dress code, this is not -Executive Class. - Just look at the food served: that is not -Executive Class- food. Look at those seats and the aisle way: those are coach class seats for sure. Really a shame that someone thinks they can pass this off as -Executive Class- when the video evidence is to the contrary.

That makes no sense. 7h from city center to city center sounds great when one is a tourist or a politician. For business people destinations are typically outside of city centers. In my work related travels I visited many cities and I haven-t seen downtown areas. Fly in, rent a car, drive to the place if business and go back. And I was back home for the dinner.

Really unfortunate to have decals over the windows across so many carriages. Part of the joy of travelling by train is the ability to enjoy the landscape so l really don-t understand why Trenitalia chooses to cover the windows with semi transparent plastic. Really poor decision and l would be really annoyed to pay a premium price and get that on my window.

Only just got around to watching this Paris to Milan trip, great video thanks. Just out of interest I noticed that when the train stopped in Modane there was a diesel loco parked in a siding which must have been purchased secondhand from the UK, Class 66, number 66210 looks like it was still in it's original livery too-.

Viewers take note: Following the extreme weather and landslide on the French Italian border at the end of August 2023, there is no service between Paris and Milan because the line was taken out. It is unlikely there will be any resumption of service until at least August 2024 and possibly beyond then. Very sad.

I just have to say the European trains are so much more advanced than the United States. We really are bacwards. It is downright embarrassing to see these beautiful trains that can travel 300 miles an hour we haven-t even began to have this speed. Nothing like this here.

I took this train last March in Business class. I didn-t have the delicious food, but the windows were free. Those ten minutes in Modane were the highlight of my trip ( and I took a selfie in the same angle shown in 18: 23. 10/10 would take it again.

Would you say the train was (laterally) more balanced than a TGV on the same route? Or the same?
I find the TGV ride these days on Paris-Lyon relatively uncomfortable but i'm wondering whether it's the (againg) trainsets or the (aging) tracks

wouldn't get that service on British trains and they serve slop too, I wish the government just really sorted out the British Railways and they should start by kicking out the unions and its fat cat marxist leaders!

15: 44 Wow this is so interesting! Pistoia is really close from my house, i'm happy that they built this fantastic train not too far from where i live! That factory is a Tuscany's excellence for sure!

Was the direct train from Paris to Milan cancelled? I can't find any tickets on any website, they all appear with one or more stops. I tried different days and no direct train service appears.

Executive class sounds like a total rip-off! You get less people in the car and that's it's only advantage. The seats are nothing special, the food is mediocre, the views are bad.
reply

Great video the train looks superb and the journey lovely!
You said executive class has 8 seats but it looks like 10 seats. Two sets of four, plus two single seats -

No face hair, no long close ups of food, just travel and movement. Would like screen text on occasion to indicate where and when. Other than that, 5 star.
reply

I really want to like the train, but why is it so slow?
Nearly 7 hours for 500 miles - surely they should be making trains that go at 200 mph these days?

reply

Someone I know said they were having visitors from another country and how do you explain Amtrak to a European? Would the Europeans accept Metra?
reply

I took Frecciarossa several times in Italy as well as once on Italo. Executive class is the real deal. I am excited to try out this line to Paris.

Not to compare with france! EVERYTHING here IS LOUSY OLD CRANKY. OFTEN ON STRIKE ( COMMUNISTES SYNDICATS ) definitly dont take the train in France!
reply

Your analysis of leg space is faulty because you have not taken into consideration the seat which is on your opposite side -
reply

Autrement mieux que la SNCF. ! et pourtant je voyage a chaque fois en 1ere pour faire Paris-Lyon, c'est le jour et la nuit.
reply

No offence but the food on board looks like merde. I would have expected much better in Executive class on an Italian train.
reply

Looks like the US< has some catching up to do compared to the trains in Euroupe! Pretty much like flying!
reply

Much better than flying. I think airlines are going to have a hard time competing with high speed trains
reply

what does -groundbreaking compared to any first class trains- mean? Dude. get a hold of your language.
reply

I hate train wraps and hope I don't get blinded when I ride Exceuitve Class from Milan to Rome next month.
reply

Hi, how do I book this train journey, I looked on the website and it only shows trains with connection
reply

Do you know, if the train usually is delayed? I might also want to travel with this train. -
reply

2023, they still don't have platform in a level with train floor even on central stations and HSR.
reply

The Sanitary Pass was enough to not want to watch this video.
That-s some crazy shit

reply

Good Video! (but why drinking an ordinary Cola to a delicious italien platter); -)
