Very nice ride. Interesting how these modern multi-lane highways and rail viaducts blend in to the ancient landscape and don't intrude too much.
Also interesting that the Chinese seem to prefer to keep their high speed lines above ground, when in Europe they're so often buried in tunnels and underground bunkers so you can hardly see anything of the place you're arriving at.

Do not confuse Japan with China.
Japan's high-speed railway and China's high-speed railway are not the same.
Japanese rail cars are expensive compared to made in China.
You can purchase safety with money.
It is the same as railway and aircraft.
Please leave Japan to high-speed railway construction and railway car manufacturing.

When I took the train from Shanghai to Beijing it traveled at around 220 Km/h, the ride wasn't very smooth and was a bit noisy, in fact. So I was skeptical of the service when they announced the G (gao, I believe) trains. This seems to be a more comfortable ride, it's also nice to see more controlled pollution!

In October, 2015 I travelled by Bullet train from Xian to Beijing and again from Beijing to Shanghai. The travel time in both journeys was less than 5 hrs and the distance between starting and destination was more than 1000 kms in each case. It was a memorable experience.

Nice video. The HSR really changed my way to travel. I always go to Shanghai for business or take the flight. Normally it cost me 3. 5 hours to drive or take the bus. But the HSR only need 1. 5 hours. So now if the city i go has the HSR, i never drive! lol

Wonderful to see such great passenger rail service. I was most impressed with the rail yards full of sleek passenger equipment. Never seen such a thing here in the US. Just seventy years of abandonment and decay. We do have some great rail trails, though!

One of my best memories I had in China, taking the bullet train. I traveled from Jinan West to Beijing South. Not only the trains are fast and quiet, but also waiting in the modern train station was an amazing experience.
