In April of 2011, the Pacific Railroad Society chartered a special excursion from Los Angeles to Bakersfield, CA and return over Union Pacific trackage including a rare run over Cajon Pass on UP tracks. Amtrak 156 resplendent in a version of the Phase I paint scheme. The train is seen here at the San Gabriel Mission, on Cajon Pass, and on the desert run to Mojave, CA
