BNSF Railway has acquired a wide variety of locomotives over the years. While the vast majority of trains are pulled by General Electric Evolution series units these days, a number of the older locomotives are still on hand to assist with some of the shorter runs. Among these, the old Electromotive Division built locomotives are a fan favorite. Most of the long surviving EMD units came from predecessor railroads Santa Fe and Burlington Northern and include larger, 6 axle SD series diesels like the SD40-2, SD60M, and SD75M along with a very large fleet of the smaller four axle GP series locomotives. Some of these units are 30, 40, and even 50 years old and still out on the rails pulling trains. In this video, I-d like to take a look at a number of these tried and true EMD workhorses as they work on the high iron. Our focus will be in the Pacific Northwest region of the BNSF system. We-ll see several scenes of EMD locomotives powering the many regional manifests in Washington State as well as on some of the locals and the very unique -Garbage Trains

Yes vintage EMD! Just like all of your videos this is a beautiful video, every shot looks like a photograph or could be in a calendar. Thank you for the video, it was a joy to see all of the vintage EMD equipment in action.

Sadly the SD70MAC is on its way out the door. BNSF gave Siemens the middle finger because the latter wanted BNSF to buy more expensive phase modules so the remaining MAC are running on borrowed time.

I love EMD power. The company I work for has a rail transload facility in Sumas, WA. Recently, I got to see an old geep still clad in the blue and yellow Santa Fe livery. Too cool.

Great video. sometimes I forget how beautiful my state is. Enjoy seeing the old school emd-s. Remember seeing those Green BN as a kid in the 80-s&90-s going thru Seattle

Not only are these the best locomotives in their fleet IMO, they're also the LOUDEST! Those classic 1990s K3LAs rattle your head they're so loud! I love that about them.

Hello Mike, i'm from Indonesia. This video very good. Why do I say that? Because several years ago America has sent several locomotives to Indonesia --

Thank you for this interesting video. As a modeler it is always good to see what the railroads are doing. I like your framing composition.
