Stormy winter conditions on the mountain pass this day for the Regional Train between Bergen and Oslo. The trains on the Bergen Line travers one of the most inhospitable winter environments in Norway. The weather can go from pure sunshine to deadly winter storm in matter of minutes. The roads and air traffic usually stop long before the Railway is deemed too dangerous. This is thanks to the awesome people working day and night to keep the line open under these treacherous conditions. For me the trip starts at Voss operating the train over the mountain pass to l in Hallingdal where another driver takes over

Questions from Australia downunder,
1. How cold is it in the mountain tunnels, summer, winter?
2. are the tunnels ever blocked?
3. what happens if you get stuck up the mountains is there a food supply in the cab with a bed?
4. what was the temperature outside when filmed.
5. when were the tunnels in the mountains built, looks like a long while ago.
Great video, enjoyed the whole trip very scenic, and cold compared to Australia.

The Scandinavians claim that they are super environmental, but of course this is a total lie. This is a normal Scandie winter. Can you imaginer the per-person energy burnt in this sort of climate? If they want a truly sustainable existence, then Scandinavia will need to be abandoned by humans completely. But of course it never will. Because we circle back to them being environmental liars.

I loved operating in the snow. Acceleration & Braking was about the same as when it was dry. Plus nothing beats going down the Main Line in a snow storm & watching the snow vortexs swirl around the cars.

I agree with everyone else. A good no frills video. Just the train, the snow and the countryside and those tunnels! No silly music or commentary. We can enjoy the ride in peace.

Not much of a Railroad Light on this engine. It should light up those tunnels along with the two other lights to where the inside of those tunnels should be like daylight.

Isn't there any potential danger of not being able to see the track. I believe driver is experienced enough to drive in such weather

I never tire of this video. I am amazed that you didn't slide off rails when you were in deep snow and little visibility.

Is this a diesel locomotive or an electric train with pantographs? It sounds electric but I would defer if corrected.
