I am a former smoker, & quit only because I got a progressive lung disease that will eventually kill me. My lung disease was not from smoking, it was from exposure to black mold that the negligent Mall owner where I owned a business didn't deal with. But as a result I had to quit smoking & took a course at the hospital to learn how to look after myself with this illness. It is a course everyone should take; it taught me alot about how vulnerable lungs are, not the least of which is a little thing called cilia. These are little hair like things that sweep backwards to keep things we've inhaled out of our lungs. 1 cigarette paralyzes them for an hour, leaving virtually an open pipeline for carcinogens etc. to enter & attack your lungs. Most smokers often don't wait longer than an hour before having another cigarette so for those people their cilia remains paralyzed, making them more suseptable. I was a very light smoker, I rarely even smoked 1 cigarette a day. But although I truly enjoyed smoking, learning how it puts you at risk has caused me to not miss it at all.

As someone who used to work in a smoke shop, I have a few takes on the FDA story. First, it is obvious that under 21 people use it, both in high school and college. However, aside from mango, mint is the Go To flavor. Aside from Mango, the other fruity flavors are very unpopular, and since Mango was released after mint, most people will probably continue to have the same useage with mint. As for the menthol ban, I see where the fact about African American kids using it can matter, but almost every single black person over 21 that came into my store would order menthol as well. Looking at the statistics, black smokers favor menthol by a wide margin. The banning of the flavor will probably get hit with a huge this is racist card, and rightfully so. Why focus just on black kids by banning a product used mostly by black adults. Why not go after the rest of the races with the same tactic? It doesn't really make sense

As a JUUL retailer, I can tell you that yes, the product is especially popular amongst young consumers, the majority of our customers having just turned 18 (18 is the legal age to smoke in my state. As for JUUL's campaign to get the number of young people/minors to quit using the product. the campaign will do nothing. It isn't minors buying the product. It is adults buying it and giving them to minors. Yes not making the flavors will help (mango is by far the most popular, but the high nicotine in the product will still be desired as nicotine is the reason they are so addictive. And just to put it in perspective, the average cigarette has about a 2. 4% to 3. 2% nicotine content, while JUUL uses a 5% nicotine content. E-Cigs have always marketed themselves as a way to quit smoking cigarettes, so why are E-Cigs now having twice the nicotine of a normal cigarette?

In response to the high school Vaping responses: everyone at your high schools vape in bathrooms, locker rooms & classrooms? Everyone at MY high school smoked cigarettes in our school bathrooms, locker rooms & even classrooms. I was a prime offender. Ive smoked cigarettes since age 12 in middle school stinking up my middle school bathrooms with my Marlboro reds 100s. If I had access to Vape paraphernalia back then, I wouldnt have continued smoking for 18 years. destroying my lungs, body & teeth. with only 11 teeth remaining. Ive now quit smoking for 2 years thanks to electronic vapor products entirely. nothing else worked. So F U. but you have no clue how bad smoking cigarettes is in comparison to vaping. Vaping saved my life & my husbands life. Sorry.

Went out and bout a JUUL right after the first video, and glad I did lol Personally I'm among the mindset that it's the parents job to teach their kids not to underage smoke, not the companies. When I was in high school kids didn't smoke because it was cool and hip. They smoked because they were overworked and stressed out of their minds. The nicotine helped them relax. Not saying it's good, just saying what I saw. Kids had regular cigarettes, blue e cigs, full on vape sticks, and these smaller juul vapes. They had it all. If a kid feels stressed out to the point of smoking, they're going to find a way to do it. The flavors aren't what draws them into smoking in the first place. It's a deeper problem than just viral marketing.

As I said last week Phil those of us adults who want to continue vaping with a choice of flavour can buy plain flavourless e liquid and add our own PG/VG based flavours. We have no such ban on flavours in Australia but we can't buy e liquid with nicotine included we have to import it and can't import any more than 1000 Australian worth in a 3 month period, all that being said I just ordered my first batch of liquid and flavour to mix myself and it cost me like 100 U. S and it'll last me like six months versus me spending 100 U. S a month for pre made e liquid. My advice to all vape users out there is start making your own liquid, all you need is a mixing cup, a couple of measuring cups and a spoon and you're set.

Youre so one sided its actually sad, like the whole police security situation, donut operator clarified it alot better than you could ever do, like youve never been in a high intense shooting situation so how can you give your opinion on what the officer should have done when theres multiple people running around screaming and shouting and you see a guy matching the description of the shooter holding a gun pressed against a dude on the ground, in a majority african american nighclub, like you just sit there and race bait it all bringing up he shot him cause he was black even though the majority of the people in the incident were of that origin.

What they don't tell you about the Roberson incident was that it occurred in a dark alley at around 4am. What Roberson was wearing that night is still in question but most reports say that he was wearing mostly black in a dark alley. He was carrying a gun that he didn't have licenses to carry. The club didn't not have proper permits for many different aspects, one being that they should not have been selling alcohol as the permit needed for them to expired the month before. It is all seems like a bad situation that is going to get a good officer's career destroyed because it seems like everyone is going to pull the race card on him.

When you pull your gun out in a Police-controlled situation, you add yourself to their equation of keeping the Peace. All Police on scene have control of the situation and also have to react to flying bullets. The bullets, doesn't matter whose gun they're coming from have a risk of hitting someone especially other bystanders. So, if you choose to bust your gun out and start defending yourself in the presence of other armed officers who are more than qualified to handle the situation, not even taking into account the potential bystanders you are putting in danger, then I think he deserved to be shot for sure, not killed.
