On the making movies and documentaries about murderers, I do think that this creates the idea in people to watch out for themselves. Shows like this have taught me to be reasonably careful, and not just trust a complete stranger because they are 'nice'. The My Favorite Murder podcast for example, tells the stories of many crimes, but they always give the utmost respect to the victims, are serious regarding mental health, and constantly draw the lines for their listeners that if you have a feeling, trust your gut, always call the police immediately if you see something that isn't right, and to never follow a handsome stranger with a cast on their arm by yourself, even to be polite, which in the case of this murderer he is believed to have killed two women in one day with that ruse. He was one of the first serial killers, so people just weren't thinking this was possible until it started happening, so the objective is to make people more aware, without it taking over your life of course. However, there are many lines not to cross and so many things that can go wrong in these depictions, with being respectful to the victims and those affected by the crimes, so creators do have to be careful. I'll be interested to see this movie in full, since I sort of wonder if the movie will start off with a he is so lovely vibe and then slowly or abruptly pull away the veil.

A lot of serial killers were inspired by horror movies, music, media, hell war or dark moments in their lives. Not notoriety. You fail to understand that these killers were sick but could play it off being normal or coming across as meek. They were not okay and most actually couldn't understand what they were doing. Thats what made them terrifying. They are the farthest from normal human behavior and were more a mimic. School shooters are moronic idiots wanting to get a name or be recognized as terrifying as these serial killers. A serial killer is almost never concerned with the public view, its all about satisfying an obsession. Its not uncommon or wrong to be curious or interested in these cases. Its something we cant wrap our heads around or understand so we are curious out of a want to understand and not see these people as simply boogie-men. You can refuse to say their names but youre not doing anything by doing that. People will always be like this regardless and they will always have or find an obsession to further their own mental instability. The only thing you're doing is providing ignorance over how to be aware not to be taken in by appearances.

I'm a PG&E customer, I've never understood power companies especially this one. There is no choice, they are the only one you can get power from. They've repeatedly made costly mistakes on my bill, at one time charging me for the power usage of the entire building ( 4 different apartments) instead of just my usage, and instead of every fixing their mistakes, they just said oh well, you have to pay it. It is a horrible company that has no concern at all for any sort of quality or customer service or safety, there are constant power outages whenever there is any type of bad weather to the point that I constantly keep flashlights and lanterns around. I am not surprised at all with their involvment or cause of the horrible fire that destroyed an entire city, nor am I surprised at their attitude or behavior when confronted with this revelation. I'm sure they were well aware from the beginning. They will not be held accountable, nor will they face any sort of justice. I wish I could say this will change, but I haves no faith that this will ever be a reality.

thoughts about serial killer movies. first off this is america. we live in a country where consumers drive market. Recently the whole serial killer fetish is on a rise. being a serial killer is something we as average humans cant fully understand and since we dont understand it we look for more and more information. The media then picks up on what were interested in at the time and the capitalize on it. Now is it morally right for them to do that? Some say yes some say no. If you dont agree with someone exploiting the killer and theyre victims then I would say, dont play into it. Because the way I see it, If you play into in the least bit either for or against it. Theyre going to see that. any attention is good to them, cause then others will play into it and cast theyre opinion on it and continue to grow the attention of it and grow the profits from it. If you dont like it. DONT PAY ATTENTION TO IT. You wont stop it from happening by complaining about it. You can only stop it by not feeding into it at all.

I'll preface this by saying that a movie should NEVER be made about a still living killer when they are still alive. Many of them feed off their own notoriety. Just prefacing, every aspiring movie maker should know this. That aside, it is safest to make this kind of media if the victims and secondary victims (relatives or friends of the deceased) are no longer around either. Cause the fact remains that a movie made for money might truly harm someone affected by the killer and might cause undue stress that may lead to reverting their recovery. I believe that a tragic story has worth being told, but never at the expense of victims, regardless of the intent or framing of it. So bottomline, it's too soon. They have every right to make it, legally, but morally they shouldn't have done it yet. But, on a side note, a movie INSPIRED by the events would have been perfectly fine. Probably. I'm no expert.

For whatever it's worth, I studied Criminal Psychology within a notable college here in Ireland. In our lectures we discussed Ted Bundy, among others. The emphasis on his physical appearance was astounding for a third level course. The general thing that kept coming up was. and he was handsome Can you believe that someone so handsome did these things? Wow You just never know We were also made to watch Hollywood movie trailers on YouTube pertaining to crime. In fact, all of our video work was from YouTube and the majority of what we watched were Hollywood big budget trailers. We can laugh at the concept of a hot Hollywood actor playing a serial killer and all the romanticism that's involved but I guarantee they will be showing this very trailer to aspiring criminal psychologists in the future. It's pretty ridiculous. This wasn't some cheap side course. This was actual college.

I think its mostly just a production problem personally. Maybe they thought it'd get a lot of (there's not such thing as bad) publicity by showing it off in this sense, but I'd argue that it simply would've shown better if they lead with how much of a monster the guy was THEN go into the charismatic protagonistic-like movie with the killer and hopefully end as horribly as possible. also with Jack Black vs Will Smith, we can't hate either direction, but I think people are normally drawn to Jack Black, not only cus his videos are more candid, but also because its a celebrity being candid, whereas not everyone can do what Will Smith does off the bat with high res videos with lots of cuts in different places of the world etc etc. I do think Will could tone down the production and maybe even just do a vid by himself or with his family, no editors or script or camera men.

Im Brazilian and can guarantee you, this disaster and the way our government is handling this situation (with the president stating the disaster will be investigated and mended a few days after showing intentions of ridiculous actions from decriminalizing killings of endangered species and easing up on environmental protection laws to acting almost like its funny when theres news about a new massacre inside indigenous reserves) this is just a sample to the horrors were about to face. Its common knowledge that our president idolizes Trump however hes even more cruel and dumb, to the point of not hiding his prejudices and mistakes behind lame excuses as trump at least tries.

Some people are simply interested in/fascinated by serial killers purely for psychological reasons and not because they themselves are interested in becoming one. Some people hear stories like these and it makes them want to pursue a career in law enforcement. I get the whole fear of there being a copycat killer, but I really don't think this is going to be the film that inspires anyone to become a serial killer. Regarding the whole Jack Black vs. Will Smith thing, I think Jack Black is winning the game because his content style is more relatable, whereas with Will Smith his content is very produced, expensive, and luxurious, which is unrelatable to most people.
