WOW Liam Neeson Revenge Controversy, 21 Savage, Austin Jones Guilty, Content Thieves, & More. Naerwyn: Liam Neeson: If you don't see what he said as the most genuine expression of righteous anger gone wrong, turned to utter regret, and the will to do better, please ask yourself what the point of an apology is. This is literally the model for what redemption looks like. Talk to an ex-con, if you'd like to hear the same thing from another perspective. 21 Savage: If the dude was 12 years old when he got here, he spent most of his formative years in the US, no? He is whatever he identifies most with, culturally. If you just mean it as like He's British nationality then, yeah, I guess so, since he's not /officially/ American. I hope he applies for citizenship, has to wait in line like everyone else, gets frustrated, and spreads awareness about how badly we need immigration reform as a whole. The Memes: That shit runs in circles. There inappropriate shit everywhere, about everything, if you look anywhere at all. If you mean what you post, say or write meanly, you're mean. If you post/say/write it to your friend as a funny, it's funny. Comedy is subjective. Do I think celebrities shit-posting is smart? No, but neither is most of the stuff people do. A Jones: The day we stop holding people accountable for their actions, due to their traumas, is the day we can no longer fairly hold anyone accountable for anything, and our murderers/rapists/etc are let free. I heard something like that recently. We all have reasons for being the way we are. Our faults due to some reason or another. Jones may have had his traumas, but there are many people who have also had trauma, and not coerced children to do such things. Everyone has reasons, they aren't excuses. We can learn, we cannot erase. I wish he had received a higher sentence. --- Humans, man. Sooome shit. ---

We should care more about what black men think about this. Since for a few weeks technically all innocent black men in whatever country Liam was in at the time was actually in danger of being killed. Sooo. you can feel however you feel about it but the most important thing is if the group he was potentially attacking forgives him. If his friend was raped by a gay man or a white woman and liam says he went out for a few weeks activity looking to kill a gay man or a white woman, don't you think people will want to know more if the LGBT community or white women forgive him. But black men being at the bottom of the totem poll of society, nobody cares what we think about a guy that admits to at one time in his life being racist and looking for a innocent random black man to kill. For the record, I applaud his honesty and don't think he is a racist any longer but for those few weeks he was. Its the same mentality that led to random innocent black men being kidnapped off the street, castrated, lynched, burned and left on display. I forgive him, Liam seems like a real one, a man takes responsibility.

As a pro-Black, black straight man, I think the Liam thing is something that both sides should be open to listening to the other side kind of deal. For non-black people, they should understand the trauma associated with that and not get mad when people have ptsd when a white guy says he wanted to kill them. Remember this isnt something of the past; lynching, getting shot by police, is a thing. On the flip side though, we as black people should understand that most non-black people have these inherit thoughts because of society or how they were raised. For somebody to admit what most non-black people think or keep among themselves and express how ashamed he is, is very brave. I remember filming with this white guy (who runs a group for white people discussing and understanding their racism etc/his idea is you cant solve an issue that you ignore) and he said thats part of the healing process; admitting these thoughts and expressing if you feel bad for it or not. I dont think he should be associated with MAGA people, who (most imo, think these thoughts but DONT feel ashamed for it.

I dont think Liam Neeson is racist necissarily. Maybe he is or maybe he was at one point I think it doesnt matter what race the person who attacked his friend was I think he was merely prejecting his hate on anybody he could associate with his friends attacker. Im not saying its right its not but also keep in mind the way he talks about it is with regret and he even says he learned a lesson from it. Also Im kind of confused about 21 Savage so what his parents and him came over here with visas when he was 12 and it expired when he was 13? Like did people expect him to book himself a plane ticket at 13 and head on back to the uk? Should he have headed back over when he turned 18? Perhaps but also keep in mind he had no choice in the matter he had built himself a life here. Packing up and leaving everything behind is a challenge to say the least and so is becoming a legal resident of the united states. That being said I still do think people should come here legally but I also at least somewhat understand why a lot of people migrate here illegally

There's moments in history where we as humans have done awful things to one another under false pretenses. If someone as nice as Liam Neeson had some dark times, i think we should recognize that given the right circumstances ANYONE, regardless of race colour or gender are capable of inhuman actions. Liam stopped himself before doing anything unforgivable, but he did something extremely ballsy by admitting what he went through. If you think he's racist for not being able to control the animalistic side of his brain, you better not have ever harboured ill feelings towards another person. Humans are very susceptible to cause and effect, and sadly his brain made the connection that any black man was the problem. If the person was any other colour, he would probably be going after them. I dont think what he went through was racist, it was just the darker side of being a human, and we as fellow humans are not doing ourselves any favors by posturing and serving justice on others while ignoring our own shortcomings.

Re: Neeson -- If people don't admit to previously racist thinking, they're called liars and if they do, they're still called racists even if they no longer think that way. How does this help end racism? Or homophobia? Or mysogyny? You can't have an open and honest dialogue if people are afraid to be honest about past behaviors and the way their thinking has changed, if it's changed. If not, it's another story, but Neeson seems to have learned and grown and admits it. And I think he knew exactly what he was doing when he told the story though his motives are his own. Re: FJ? Back in the day, nobody knew where the internet was headed and nobody paid much attention to it until money got involved -- who was or wasn't getting paid being at issue. It will all get resolved in court and new fair usage law will be written. Bottom line? FJ played fast and loose with attribution and then got greedy.

With the memes and Demi Lovato situation people took that so overboard. Everyone was laughing because nobody knew he was British and once she started laughing too, everyone lost their mind. As for Austin Jones, man, I remember in high school I was going to go to Warped Tour that year and meet him. I had loved his videos, mainly the ones on MyDigitalEscape. When these confessions came out, I was so disgusted. I remember that's when they stopped having YouTubers go to Warped. He kept saying that he didn't do anything more but people had the videos and pictures. There was no denying. I remember when he after the Chicago incident he wasn't supposed to be on the Internet anymore but I completely forgot about him. It's just so crazy to me that this was a guy that I loved to watch online and couldn't wait to meet him and finding out that he's a pedophile and will be going to jail.

I thought at first he was trying to get a character profile untillllll he said black bastered. Yikes I think plain old bastered would have sufficed. I do however understand wanting to protect those you care about, well anyone really. Rape is a freaking terrible thing and the fear continues after knowing the person is still out there. I imagine all he felt he could do is give her that peace that the person who did that couldn't come after her again. whoever did that should be locked up for life. Breaks my heart to see people have to continue on with the hert and fear of what happened to them: ( Another truly sad part is with all this getting out the focus is all on what liam said not on the healing the person needs and since he is famous it will be everywhere and just a huge reminder for her. I doubt alot of peoples take away from this is that.

how exactly was Liam Neeson racist? this was not motivated by race. he didn't go after this person because they were black, he went after them because he heard they raped someone he knew. he asked what the person looked like, and he was told the person was black. he was simply using the description of black as a means to find out who committed this crime based on their appearance is. if she had told him a white person did it, he would've looked for a white person. if she had told him an Asian person did it, he would've went after an Asian person. you see what I'm saying? just because someone mentions race doesn't make the statement racist. and what he did was wrong, but he clearly regretted what he did. I believe he chose to share this story to teach other people a lesson to not make the same decisions he did.

when a close friend get raped, you feel so powerless, so useless. I don't blame Liam to be this angry. dosn't mater if the guy is black or white. Honestly one of my friend was racist agains mexicans and when he told me his back storie I knew that there was nothing that I could say to change his view. he didn't hurt anybody tho. If there was a mexican, he could talk to him with no problem, but I could see that he was on his guard. That said, even if Liam was ''racist'', I don't blame him. Because when you see your closest friend in shock and that you where useless in that moment, honestly, your entire world just catch in fire. I'm happy that he didn't kill anybody tho, because I do belive that there is a solution without killing anybody. We just need to discuss about it
