Why People Are Freaking Out On Miley Cyrus, VOX Walkout, The Horrible Sudan Crackdown, & More Andrew M: It's horrible what happened to her and the reporting mistakes are upsetting, it created misinformation. Thankfully they were corrected eventually but this just adds another of many examples why news outlets and the media need to do research plus fact check before publishing or speaking on an issue/event. Now speaking on the subject of Euthanasia (and Pysician Assisted Suicide) it should be legal not only for terminal illness, but also mental illness and severe cases like this. I agree that it shouldn't be an easy process where anyone can die if they just feel like it. Laws, regulations, rules, safety measures, and support systems should be put in place. First off, like with Noa (the Dutch teen this story is about, it says she tried several treatments but what did she try and how many different methods all together? A minimum number of treatments tried should be a requirement before applying for Euthanasia. Other requirements should be a waiting period of 3-6 months, several doctors okay (mentally sound enough to make concise decisions, be 21 years (maybe 18) or older, the ability to say no at any point of the process. This will allow people to talk about their feelings without being afraid of being sent to a mental institution or being labeled crazy while getting the help they need. But after all that if someone still does not want to be alive, they should be allowed a peaceful death. No one should be stopped from doing what they want to do with their own life as long as they aren't hurting anyone else and/or its between consenting adults. #Euthanasia #PhysicianAssistedSuicide #MentalIllness #Health

I have had personal experience with Euthanasia, my steph dad and grandmother have both taken the choice to end their lives because they had incurable Cancer. Even though it was hard to deal with at the time, i totally support their choice and am at piece with it. There is something beautiful about being able to go on your own terms when the suffering is to much. And opposed to suicide I think it is a much better option, because friends and family get their chance to say goodbye and be at peace more easily as well as being a way more peaceful way to end your life to the person in question. I believe everyone should have this choice, and it is insane to me how many people feel like they can make this choice for you, who think they can tell you you are wrong, or you are not suffering enough. Noa had all the right to decide for herself that it was too much. That being said I do believe in trying everything like therapy and other treatments before making that final decision.

So many have missed the point entirely, it is not how basic it is, or how little time it took to make it, or that it is a cake, not art, or that I love Miley, just get over it or that the artist isn't really an artist, or that she wouldn't have made much money from the collaboration. It is about that it was this woman's idea. The pristine, wow I thought of an idea, and then created it. It is her idea. And that deserves permission, compensation, and recognition. And it is sick and gross when the masses defend the big and conglomerate over the small and independent. And yes I get it because I too am an artist. And Miley is just acting like a big old entitled person like the entitled parents Reddit.

Cake lady got her credit, it should of ended there. Compensation is only valid for the idea if she really pushes for it but if she thinks she is the only one who can bake/create the same cake then she should wake up or else every baker/grocery store cannot make any kind of generic cake that look similar and every customer cannot order a cake thats similar and post it on social media (can u imagine the bridezillas who cant buy their dream pinterest cake and post about it ) I get the copying the ig post would make the artist mad but she copied a generic cake, the cake is similar but the overall image post is different.

Duh. I can see where people got confused. Of course allowing a minor with a history of psychological trauma yet no terminal medical conditions to die from starvation and dehydration isn't technically or legally euthanasia. It just so very similar in function and end result. She was only 17. What a travesty. I'm not pro-euthanasia, but I'm not opposed to adults of sound mind choosing this option if they're medically terminal. However, this girl needed counseling and love. It's a pity nobody around her was strong enough to give her proper help. The darkest of nights produces the brightest of stars. RIP

The cake situation could have been dealth with using private messages, anyone who has been on the internet in the last 10 years know that if you attack someone with a fan base in a public forum you're going to get all the shit that comes with it from the shittiest people - and I bet some of her shittier fans were giving Miley shit too. Yeh people with more followers, more money, more lawyers shouldn't use other people's work but there's a wrong way and a right way to deal with it. Don't air your dirty laundry in public because people will draw dicks and wipe shit on it.

McDonalds has a copyright on I'm lovin It three wordsCadbury has a copyright on a specfic color of purple (#3B0084)Coke-Cola has a copy right on the Coke-Cola fontThe cake uses an orginal font, a three word phrase and a specfic color scheme. It more than meets the criteria for trademarked work. If Miley had used the phrase on a different type of cake then I doubt she would have a case but, if Giant corprations get to copyright this kind of shit then small independent artists have more than enough rights to want to be represented and paid for their work

I 100% support euthanasia. However the age limit seems very reasonable. I know I was suicidal until I was roughly 25. It was only around that point my life finally got better, though ther were still moments it dipped and I wanted to die again. But it was in this tumultuous time that things did eventually get better. I still suffer from depression, but now that the people I was forced to live with are out of the picture, I can start to heal. 21 is the age that I expect most will have similar life flipping situations. It makes a huge difference.

I am a conservative Christian, and even I don't think it's right to force someone to continue suffering because morals and opinions. I experience a lot of darkness in life, and often wonder why I'm even alive, but I also understand that life could be MUCH worse for me. I can only imagine what this young woman went through that was so horrible that she just wanted to die. I'm gonna take a guess that she didn't receive the love that EVERY human being on this planet needs. Humans need to be loved, plain and simple. We can't survive without it.

It's terrible that Noa couldn't receive euthanasia and end her life in a more gentle way that she wanted than to have to refuse food and water and be in pain. People need to get over this archaic idea that you have a duty to live and toil through life, that living is always inherently better than not living. Obviously false, Noa proved it by sacrificing herself. Since people have no choice to be born, they should be allowed to exit life the way they want. She wanted euthanasia and couldn't receive it. That's a tragedy to me.
