Why People Are Freaking Out About David Dobrik, Heartbreaking Wrongful Imprisonment, Trolls, & More Essy Chilcutte: David's in a position of power because of his popularity there for people look to him for his opinion and they judge not just him but his following the same way we judge Trump supporters. I'm friend she's a trump supporter she's a brilliant woman she has wonderful kids she's the last person you expected to be Trump supporter or even a Republican so when I asked her why she listed off most the reasons I don't like him and I'm like right that's why I don't support him and then she went on to explain why she does I don't think it was enough a reason personally but at least she had points it wasn't blind following it was an educated person who has an opinion that I will adamantly disagree with. I explained to her the actual ramifications of a wall and the pros and cons of it and so the pro wall part of it has been nullified personally it's terrible for wildlife and really hard to maintain not just the cost of building it but it's going to affect migrating animals and honestly it's a false sense of security and i gave some Serious opinions for more realistic security measures. >I agree that boarders should be secure but not the how or even the Why But my friend really chilled out with the whole raving Trump supporter routine when I'm a points that she understood

But David is privileged as a white immigrant over undocumented immigrants of color. Trump is not targeting or attacking undocumented immigrants of European heritage. His campaigns are specifically attempting to target POC particularly from Latin American countries. David Dobrik seems to be able to reconcile having Trump friends while also being upset about the end of DACA because on some level he must recognize that the rhetoric that is being expelled while impacting him as a result of policy changes are not aimed at him. He knows that when his Trump friends are complaining about illegal immigrants they arent talking about him as a wealthy white European who came here illegally, they are just talking about the poor brown people. Further his wealth, color, and fame has certainly and likely will continue to benefit him when it comes to handling immigration issues in the future. Ultimately though I dont rely on social media stars for my political compass and dont really care about David Dobriks political feelings, leanings, etc. be friends with whoever you want, its none of our business.

Payouts on wrongful imprisonment are way too low. That 140/day should be put on the persons who convicted him. Judge, prosecutor, police who handled case, etc. Then the prison system who holds this person should be liable for at least the much again. If we started putting the cost of wrongful imprisonment on the people who are undoubtedly pushing for these sentences and ultimately fulfilling them, the private prison system, they would topple and lose the money they put into lobbying. Make them suffer so they can't afford to lobby for others suffering. A few million dollar suits against them directly might make them think twice about holding criminals when it's time for parol or to be let out. Someone undoubtedly killed someone, by admission, what have you; keep them locked up sure. Someone has a shaky case and a model inmate, staying away from all internal criminal activity and you don't let them walk outside? Why are you keeping them there if not for your own private gains?

The David thing isnt a big deal. Its one thing to be able to speak out about your political views when you have such a mass of followers. Maybe some people see that as an advantage and a way to take action to spread light on the things mentioned in the video. But, others may see it as a disadvantage because so many people are not as opened minded and something he worked so hard on for so long, would be slandered because of some opinions. And again this comes into the conversation of someones opinion and how others see things. Its a matter of self morals and thoughts. A mass amount of people may agree on a certain thing but it doesnt make it right, or wrong. People just choose not to listen to the other side, because its the opposite of how they personally feel, so the other side is wrong. A matter of opinion.

Yeah, but that was before the review embargo was lifted and we found out that a heck of a lot of top critics think that Captain Marvel is boring. In fact what we found out was that the only good things about the movie is Mr. Jackson, and a cat. Other than that, a good number of critics say that watching Brie Larson's performance is like taking sleeping pills. I was rather amazed by the big name critics that said it completely sucks. Now that being said, there are still plenty of SJW critics that gave it top marks, called it the greatest movie ever made, etc. etc. etc. Edit: Had they convicted him in the first trial and put him to death, we never would have heard about the case because he wouldn't have been around to push the issue

Imagine, your wife and kid got murdered, you get blamed and got arrested for a crime you did not commit and sent to life in prison. 39 years later, you find out that you are surprisingly being released because one lone detective didn't quit on your case and proved that you are innocent. Then you're given nearly 2 million as an apology from the government and you have to continue with your life. There's no worse feeling than losing your family and then getting false convicted of their murders. Money will not automatically fix the trauma, pain, and mental stress he had to go through for all of those years. This is exactly why we have due process

Hey Phil, I dont know if youre still reading comments on this video but I did want to share another fundraiser (per your request) that is happening over at Twitch that could always use your help. A huge group of broadcasters are doing a week long marathon of gaming to raise funding for St Judes (which is a cause very near and dear to my heart at least. The event is called Play For a Purpose and starts on May 4th and ends on May 11th at Twitch. tv/havok. The group has a pretty lofty fundraising goal this year so any love or support your community could show it is beyond appreciated. I hope this comment finds its way to you.

david wanting to not be politically charged and befriend trump supporters is totally fine. HOWEVER he doesn't get to decide how other people think or feel. that's what rubbed me the wrong way. if david feels like political views don't affect them, that's cool. but other people have the right to be vigilant and disturbed about the state of politics, and the opinions surrounding it. you don't get to DEMAND that everyone be chill if they truly feel like trump's actions (and the support of those actions) are impacting them in a way they cannot ignore. david doesnt have a say in that

In regards to unlawful imprisonment and similar matters, while it might come across as a bit harsh, I think the punishments for such should be way more severe. If you falsely accuse someone of a crime like this, you ruin their lives to a very significant extent. One of the most hard-hitting examples of this is the many false rape and hate-crime accusations we've seen disturbingly much of recently. So with a bit of leniency for cases where knowing intent can't be proven, I think false accusations should carry the same sentence as the crime which is implied + legal fees.

I love David but I understand the backlash. Those who support trump and are against DACA are ok with David but not undocumented Mexican people. Because hes white its whatever but if he was Mexican it would be a bigger deal. David doesnt realize these immigrants that are being detained and ripped from their kids couldve been his family easily. The fact that undocumented people are terrified to be pulled over because they can lose their status yet David is fearless speeding in his Tesla/Ferrari. You cant say there isnt some type of white privilege there.
