WOW MatPat's 1. 7 Million Defy Media Bombshell, BuzzFeed Mass Layoffs, Venezuela, & Trump v Pelosi Buddy Baker: I appreciate MatPat's emotional reaction to the Defy Media situation, but the fact Ally Bank has frozen 1. 7 million of Defy's funds does not somehow put Ally Bank in the position of deciding whose claims on that money are the most important. As I understand it, a trustee in bankruptcy has been appointed to liquidate all of Defy's assets and claw back any recent payments and then decide who gets how much of the money based on how federal bankruptcy law specifies that such money is to be divvied up. It's uninformed to say that this is based on someone's determination of who is most important. Ally Bank may or may not have a right to keep any of the funds they have frozen, based on how much money Defy owes them and whether they have a security interest in any of Defy's assets; the trustee in bankruptcy will examine everyone's claims and their level of security interests and apportion the money as the law dictates, not based on emotional appeals. MatPat just needs to make sure he files a proper claim in order to get his legal piece.

We better get our diplomats the hell out of there. I'm getting real tired of our diplomats and embassy staff being left a sheep to be slaughtered so we can then act shocked and send troops. It does not have to be done that way and its BS. If we want to send troops to secure a non-suppressed democratic election thats perfectly well and good. But this pattern we have of knowingly leaving our embassy staff to get hosed first so we can be shocked is disgusting. When the guy with guns says get out then you get out. Come back with troops if you give a crap but dont just leave those staff to a 50/50 shot of being murdered.

I feel so bad for not only the people who are getting laid off but as well as the people who will still be working at these companies. You can bet these companies will still expect the same amount of work to be produced with less employees which will put a bigger work load on those already employed. Hopefully Im very wrong in my thinking with this and they have another plan going forward but even if they do come up with a way to not overwork people it usually takes time to figure out what works best to get to that point. Im hoping all of these people who get laid off will be able to find another job.

So deeply saddened to hear that my own people of Mexico support such an authoritarian dictatorship. When Democrats and Republicans can agree on hating a person, that shows just how despicable that person is. Nicolas Maduro is scum, feasting while his people starve, healthy while his people nearly die of medical neglect, smiling while his people cry. Let us not repeat 1933 and allow a power hungry dictator disguised as elected leader to do as he pleases. What happens when his 6 year term ends? does any sober-minded person actually believe he will release his power voluntarily?

I was actually about to comment about the 10, 000 employees accepting buyout offers when you said it, lol. My grandpa works for Verizon and just last night he was telling us about it. Luckily he is basically retirement age so hell be retiring in March (although this is something he really didnt want to do yet and hes obviously upset about retiring) but he said the 10, 000 taking buyout offers are largely the veteran employees, which will obviously leave behind a ton of young, far less experienced. Itll be interesting to see how the company does in the future.

The basis of the fraudulence of Maduro's presidency is the fact that he created a parallel National Assembly, called the Constituent National Assembly (via fraudulent elections, read Smartmatic's cease of operations in Venezuela) since they didn't have majority in the actual National Assembly. This Constituent National Assembly called for presidential elections which were unsurprisingly approved by the National Electoral Council, and also unsurprisingly the majority of votes were for Maduro. Also, thank you Phil for covering these events

The U. S. are really salivating over the biggest reserve of oil and gold. They have pour a lot of resources to put their hands on those reserves and they have been kind of successful. It's so obvious that all this is just to get those resources. The story keeps repeating. All is needed is lots of tax payers money to create chaos in a nation, controlled media and intimidated or blinded citizens ( us citizens and allies) for them to keep taking all resources of the world so only a few can benefit. I'm so ashamed to be a U. S. citizen.

I uploaded videos to Reddit and defy media paid me for them. 100 for a 1 minute video of a wasp, 200 for a video of a car fire, and 200 for a video of a dog getting out of her cage. The videos were retarded and I knew they would never get viral traction so I gladly took the upfront money held the hopes maybe one would get traction and they would share adrev proceeds. I also knew if they were paying me that kind of money for the quality of video I was posting, the model wouldn't last long. Thanks defy

Congress funds billions for far less important things compared to our boarder security. It would be far less of an issue if congress funded the 5. 7 billion, than not. Nancy and shumer both have been pro-wall until Trump became president. This is purely a defiance against Trump and Americans are suffering for it. I can only hope when Pelosi and shumer's round comes again to be voted to stay in congress they get replace (thru the votes) by someone who better represents the peoples views and desires.

DEFY and other networks like them were always shady. There is a massive history of them screwing over people all over the place who were smaller just because they could or taking unfair cuts. It truly blows it came down to this for people like MatPat because they did not deserve this at all. It shows once more how flawed many of YouTube's systems are and how they negatively impact real honest creators. Not to mention flaws in banking systems like what he spoke about.
