1: KPop is a subgenre like Scandanavian Metal. If the VMA's are going to categorize that genre, I think it should be under exactly what it is- Pop. Similarly, not everywhere around the world has &/or likes Latin music & those nominated should be placed accordingly, such as dance, pop, rap, or folk (traditional. 2: I hope capital punishment does come back. As much as it seems like these horrible people are getting off easy, are they worth using tax dollars to support them in prison while victims receive minimal restitution, if at all? I wouldn't want to spend anything for any kind of sustainability for these monsters of society. 3: The Mueller investigation has a lot of holes, specifically about questioning whether if Trump said the investigation was a witch hunt. Yes, he did say that It's on his Twitter, right there in black & white. It was also said to & with other media as well. While this might seem minute, it goes to show the shaky credibility of Mueller. He might have dug up a lot of evidence against Trump, but Mueller's hands aren't clean either.

This is why I hate the word kpop I'm aware that in Korea they also refer to themselves as kpop artists but that's probably a result of westerners. Anyways, not only does it completely separate them from western artists, it also further enforces the insult koreaboo. I do believe koreaboos exist but people who dont know about the Korean music industry think EVERYONE who listens to it is a koreaboo. While in fact some people actually care about the Korean culture. And if a song is in the pop GENRE it should be in the pop category, same for rap and hip hop. A LANGUAGE is not a genre. Music is a universal language and music in other languages should not be seen as completely different genres. I dont only listen to Korean music. I also listen to Thai, Kazakh, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, etc. And guess what? They all have different genres within them. A LANGUAGE ITSELF IS NOT A GENRE. Thank you.

So, people are saying that it is unfair to compare a free broadcast vs a cable tv show regarding the VMAs. Lets get this straight, most people with interner access have cable, lets be real here. If you have access and notifications on to catch a VLive (Which is an app that you need to download and have good internet connection to even use and watch said free broadcasts, without subtitles by the way) you probably have cable at home. Also, time zones, most intermational BTS fans wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning to tune in any live performance or vlive that might be happening. That is compromise, we do that all year long and if people won't watch a TV award show, well, something is up with said award TV show. The Billboards had a raiting of 8. 01 million viewers, the Tony awards (Not everyone's cup of tea) had 5. 5 million viewers. So, how is Broadcast vs Cable even an argument here?

You mentioned in your latest DeFranco Does video that sometimes you feel like you've been talking to a void and that you can't move any needles and I completely disagree. I've been watching since 2008 (using another youtube account) when I was still in college and and ever since then I've watched your every show since. I've since your several times (once in 2010 and a few times later) hint about quitting and I am so glad that you didn't. I am now a lawyer with more than four years of experience and I am still dependent on your show for morality and practicality checks. I am certain that I do not agree with your every opinion, but there's a good chance that you always come from an objective stand point every time. You're even conscious enough to admit your biases and that's great. Cheers Phil. Keep on doing what you're doing.

I mean it does seem like they are being racist with separating Latin artists and now Korean artists but not people from Canada, Britain, and other such places. Given the numbers behind BTS they should be nominated in the big categories. I think they should expand the bigger categories and maybe, to be fair, open British music and such and show groups people here may not have heard of. groups popular in Britain. I mean if we wanna be fair and all. I mean otherwise it just shows even more how racist it is. They want ARMY, Blinks, EXO-L's, Monbebe, and others to watch the show. but they don't wanna count us and our groups the same as others. Also, I'd love to see MelOn and MAMA both on American TV so we can all watch it easily. watch those numbers hit highs when the fans get to see it at a good time for us Westerners.

In regards to Russian interference with the US Elections, part of me is bothered by it and the idea of our Democracy being tainted by a foreign entity, meanwhile I know full well our democracy has been beyond tarnished by corrupt politicians sitting comfortably in corporate pockets. At the same time as all of that I kinda feel like its a bit poetic that the US has spent the better part of the last 100 years or so interfering in foreign elections in order to in some way shape or form screw over Russia and or anyone we dislike, and now that it is happening to us we are getting all butt-hurt and bent out of shape. Frankly we are finally getting a dose of our own medicine and I certainly hope we learn a lesson from it.

First let me say I think the VMA'S relevance, like most award shows, has been in a sharp decline for years. With that said I think a good comprise would be to have an International Video of the Year category rather than the ethnic categories like Latin Video and K-Pop video and before you say this is still more of the same you have to remember that the VMA's and MTV are an American award show on an American network. There are other award shows based in other countries which heavily feature artitsts from those countries. So making an International category you would feature artitsts/groups from other places but they wouldn't be divided into ethnic categories.

First let me say I think the VMA'S relevance, like most award shows, has been in a sharp decline for years. With that said I think a good comprise would be to have an International Video of the Year category rather than the ethnic categories like Latin Video and K-Pop video and before you say this is still more of the same you have to remember that the VMA's and MTV are an American award show on an American network. There are other award shows based in other countries which heavily feature artitsts from those countries. So making an International category you would feature artitsts/groups from other places but they wouldn't be divided into ethnic categories.

I don't know if it is a race thing but it definitely strikes me as a bit xenophobic because Kpop is clearly singled out as the other. Same with the Urban and Latino categories. It's probably also because Kpop is so huge and they know putting BTS in other categories would be a certain win. But I mean, on the other hand BTS outsold the Beatles, come on. They have definitely achieved and they will continue to be recognized for their amazing impact even if not by the VMAs. They don't even need the VMAs. And honestly Jin could make an Eat Jin episode that gets more views than MTV dreams of having.
