criminology student here. countless studies have shown that reintegration is a HUGE part of decreasing recidivism (reoffending) rates. placing more stigma on these individuals will not help them OR the community. helping offenders reintegrate into our communities is the most successful way of keeping those communities safe - even if it is counterintuitive. i know it is hard to let go of the resentment, but most pedophiles never offend and those who do often do so because they don't have access to treatment without being convicted first. instead of demonizing these people (who didn't choose to be that way) we should focus on prevention, including tertiary crime prevention, which is focused on preventing further crimes after a first offense. again, i know it's hard to fathom, but they're just people with issues too, and they are treatable. stigma is counterproductive.

The hard part for me Phil, and don't get me wrong I don't condone what they did, but they were registered as offenders, a public and view-able piece of information if people wish to know where they are. They have done and went through the societal norms of their respective counties. The fact that they are, with out there consent, being broadcasted to the public is a breach of privacy. You could argue that they are not entitled to this, but they went through the legal procedures. Plus there Offenses were from 2001, 2002, and 2007 respectively. I am not saying they have a limitation on when it happened. But since then has there been incidents? Have they been upstanding citizens? Is the Spotlight on them necessary?

I'm so glad you're talking about Lebanon: D there's just one thing I want to correct and that is: Hariri isn't the president of Lebanon. He's the prime minister. Michel Aoun is the presidentOther than that, having these protests really did uplift everyone's hope in the last few days. Every time I go, the amount of people just baffles me completely Seeing people dancing, singing, and chanting for change can really be fun; and it's nice to see everyone having a good time out of it as well At the end of the day though, we're all still expecting major changes in our country in the near future

4: 10 well hold on for a minute, one of the guys is convicted for rape when he was 18 and its the rape of 14 year olds, is it rape rape or statutory they couldnt consent rape, Also arent most pedo situations situations involving some in the family, what exactly is some guy who raped someone going to do to 12 year olds realisticly. Dont the neighbours already know about this, shouldnt officers simply watch the households? This all seems like lazy police work

Like Kylie Jenner, Alaska (RPDR) has also made a career off of capitalizing on her own (and other queens) references and dramas. Her songs are littered with popular catchphrases of other drag queens and RPDR moments. Even when the fandom turned on her and bombarded her social media with snake emojis, she owned it and made it part of her brand. Alasssssssska

Masters of marketing = greedy, soulless, shameless monsters. The only reason theyre so good at marketing and making money is because thats ALL they care about. I wouldnt applaud them for that. Its disgusting. Theyre pathetic and theyre influencing an entire generation of youth.

Isnt offender status publically accessible knowledge already. Assaults are more often not even reported, so imagine actually being charged with your crime, losing in court, and still feeling offended that you have a picket sign labeling you for what you are. I'm fuming.

I think sx offenders SHOULD be required to either put signs up or spend time in the police department until it's at least 8pm or 9pm. I say aye to Sheriff Long's efforts in putting out the signs. At least he's trying to be proactive and look after the community.

People who got mad that people are pointing out they touched kids who in no way deserved it at any point of their young lives: I don't like the signs they make me feel uncomfortable Don't you think those kids were a lil uncomfortable? No? Not even a little bit?
