Why People Are Freaking Out About BTS Exception, Facebook, & Explaining Justin Trudeau's Win Loss Keisha Wong: An exemption for certain idols is an interesting topic. For BTS, they have stated multiple times that when the time comes, even if they were granted an exemption, they would want to enlist. The majority of the fandom who has actually researched the laws and Korea's views surrounding military exemptions have accepted and will support their enlistment. Korean views regarding enlistment can be very extreme. For the most part, Koreans believe enlistment to be a natural and a way to show their patriotism. Historically, Korean entertainers who got exempt for any reason were blacklisted by Korean society. Yoo Seung-joon, a Korean-American Singer and actor was banned from Korea in 2002, because he acquired US citizenship in a bid to dodge conscription. If BTS were granted an exemption, there is a very large chance that they would lose the support of the citizens in Korea and turn to hate them for not enlisting. BTS never asked for an exemption, nor wanted one. The reason why this issue is so huge is that it could potentially help other idols to be exempt from the military. In a recent meeting regarding this issue, the big three entertainment companies: YG, SM and JYP were all present, but Big Hit Entertainment (BTS' company) was not. So if BTS has stated that they don't want or will not accept an exemption, why is this such a big issue? And why is BTS still attached to this topic? A lot of people have speculated that the big companies want to use BTS' popularity to push for idol exemptions while at the same time use BTS' popularity as a shield from critical Korean society. It would explain why the other companies were present and why BTS' name was still attached to the issue regardless of their own view on the subject. Regardless, we all know BTS will eventually enlist. It's only a matter of when and if they will go together. The group have already stated in the past that they have already discussed enlistment as a group and have stated that some members have already agreed with other members to enlist together. The question of whether or not they will enlist together is also an interesting discussion. Many believe that having BTS gone for 2 years will be better than having to wait close to a decade until the group could be back together again. This is a reasonable argument. On the other side of the coin, a lot of fans are disagreeing stating that Jungkook shouldn't have to enlist with the boys. Jungkook is the youngest member and if he doesn't enlist with the boys, he can have a solo career until the members come back. If this happens, he also does not have to enlist until his contract with Big Hit expires due to how young he is. In short, quite a few people believe that Jungkook's enlistment at such a young age will be detrimental to his career. Personally, I have the view that this is a personal decision and as a fan, I have to respect and support their decision. It will be interesting to see how all of these issues play out. And it will be interesting to see whether the group will enlist together or not. Either way, I will always love and support the boys and I am confident that they will choose the best course of action for themselves.

Here is a letter to Ontarians regarding Why are Albertans so angry? It is hard to describe what I am feeling today to you after being a patriot and loving a country for 58 years. but I will try below. For a moment lets pretend that the following has happened or is happening to the condo construction industry and auto industry in Ontario: 1. the price of the condos and autos being produced dropped by 70% in a period of a few months. Companies building these products have been doing massive layoffs. 2. In response Mr. Trudeau steps up and does the following to these industries: (a) Raises corporate taxes on these businesses(b) Accuses these Ontario companies of breaking tax laws and being crooks(c) Imposes new layers of carbon tax with more to follow with no consultation(d) Stops you from transporting the autos Ontario has produced to port and stops you from selling any condos and building any new ones(e) Imposes a shipping ban preventing only ships picking up cars from docking in Canada. All other tankers can dock as well as hundreds of cruise ships(f) Passes legislation which states that future condo and auto construction is no longer approved by the Province of Ontario but is now approved by Parliament. This likely means that you will never build another car or condo again(g) Is about to enshrine aboriginal rights with bill 232 so that no condo project or car can be built in Ontario without approval of all First Nations. This means nothing will likely get built(h) Announces that by 2050, the Ontario condo construction and auto industries will end(i) The government buys the highway that transports your produced cars to port and then stopped twinning it as it is too dangerous to the environment. However, you are puzzled as the 60 year old twin highway right beside it has never had an accident. As Ontario slides in to a recession you see Alberta buying new cars from the US and Japan. Then after the above actions you see your prime minister give an election speech in Quebec in French promising to impose more taxes and stop the big bad Ontario condo and auto barons. You see him meet with a 16 year old Norwegian who is traveling the world trying to shut down the auto and condo industry and he fully endorses her. You watch Quebec and British Columbia announce that no further Ontario cars can be sent through their provinces. Your prime minister fully supports them. Then, in the last week of the election campaign you see your prime minister standing in Quebec giving a speech at a podium with a sign on the front saying Lets build a strong Quebec. Around you all you can see is 30% building vacancy and your dear friends and clients being laid off. On top of all of the above, let's pretend as a reward for the above indifference and attacks that Ontario has sent 600 Billion more in transfer payments to Ottawa than what Ontario has every received. If all of the above happened to you and the families around you and the province of Ontario that you love. how would you feel today my friend? That is exactly how Albertans feel. But thanks for asking.

Check out our Provincial government here in British Columbia. It's a minority, Run by the NDP and supported by the Greens, and it's incredibly successful Sadly I'm not so hopeful for the Federal Minority. Especially because it looks like Trudeau is deciding to choose a minority government because of that pipeline. The Blocs, The NDP, and the Greens all opposed it and it would have been in all of their ultimatums to form a coalition. And because 1- he's not willing to let go of that pipeline, and 2- needs to earn the trust of AB and SK, he'd rather have a minority and form stronger ties with the Conservatives to push through TMX. Which more than half of Canadians oppose. And it's just frankly the wrong answer during a Climate crisis. Give it 5 years and we'll be seeing the same catastrophic fire-storm situations here in BC, that you folks are now currently AND regularly dealing with down there. Not to mention, this past harvest season was DEVASTATING for our farmers in all areas of Agriculture. When it comes down to it, you just can't build a pipeline and fight the Climate Crisis. It's an oxymoron, and we all know it. AB and SK are acting like a bunch of entitled brats, suck in their old ways and unwilling to learn and grow, or accept science and evidence-base facts. And practically have the same mindset as Flat Earthers. Facts just don't apply. And it's gross. Something I'm sure you can understand in the United States. AB and SK need to get with the times, and our leader SHOULD be encouraging and leading them through a federally funded transitional re-training process for workers and previously laid-off workers of the oil and gas industry. But no, he'd rather get on his knees and kiss their arses; whist ignoring the Climate Crisis, the rest of Canada, and First Nations and their human rights. We are facing tough times ahead of us. And are feeling so very divided. No matter what Mr. Blackface said in his un-empathetic speech, which only proved that he has no clue how everyday Canadians are truly feeling. I think you'll see Canadians come out in crazy numbers and force Trudeau to resign as soon as they start trying to lay any pipes through Quebec, BC and First Nation reserves across Canada. A re-election is imminent within the next 2 years(Btw PLEASE SAY SASKATCHEWAN AGAIN )

military enlistment is a touchy subject to try to discuss, especially if u are not south korean bc more likely than not, u dont know enough of what ur talking about. i can admit, even as someone whos been involved with k-pop and bts for almost three years now. personally, i think its ridiculous to require two years of military service of anyone, and i dont believe such a concept should exist at all. but if i try to look at it from a south koreans perspective, its radically different. growing up, men know they will eventually serve. its common enough that its not really questioned. with that system already in place, no celebrity should be treated as higher than other civilians. everyone should have to serve. however, given that exceptions have been made in the past for individuals who had a large cultural impact, it should actually come as no question that a group that has had as large of a social, cultural, and economic impact as bts would be exempted from military enlistment. and of course, that would raise the question of whether or not other groups should receive the same treatment. (lets be real here. as much as i adore other groups, the numbers speak for themselves, and no other group has the numbers to compare to bts. plain and simple) but i know that as an american, i simply dont have the firsthand knowledge and experience of someone who was raised in that kind of culture. i havent been exposed to it enough to be able to pass any kind of judgement. (also apologies for the lack of multiple paragraphs. im typing on my phone and cant really be bothered to do it)

Long time fan of Phil and BTS. I think they should raise the enlistment age back to where it was. Before they had until they were 35, which suited idols a lot better since the height of their careers was usually in their 20s. It's how it was for the last generation of kpop idols. Do they deserve an exception? I personally believe they do. They've done a lot for the South Korean economy. They've boosted exports and tourism as just some examples and that doesn't include their other good deeds. But even if they were offered an exception, I don't think they will accept it. That's just not how they are. I also don't think they will enlist at the same time either. While others may view this as the quickest way for them to reunite and do music, from a business standpoint it doesn't make sense. I'm more expecting them to go in groups or pairs and for members who aren't enlisted to form units and possibly release more solo music which I would really like to see. (SOPE, Rapline, Vocal Line, more Hobi and Tae like Brand New Day. Really want more of that)I do think that the enlistment will be a challenge for them. Even if they were to do it together, it doesn't mean that they will be stationed and do their training together. They've been together for so many years. Namjoon(RM) and Yoongi(Suga) started living together in 2010. They're family and it's hard to be apart from family. But they're strong and I, and other armys know they will get through it, accept and support their choices, and be ready and waiting for the day that they come home.

liberals basically form government because of support from quebec and ontario. the maritimes tend to be liberal but don't have the bulk of seats that ontario and quebec have. it was ontario that gave the liberals their minority. But across alberta and saskatchewan the liberals got completely destroyed. At least in my province, ontario, liberals have developed this god complex where anyone who disagrees with them isn't just wrong, they're evil. Ontario hates social conservatives bc they're christian and usually pro-life. So I believe what we saw in Ontario was not a vote for Trudeau but a strategic vote against conservatives because of Andrew Scheer being a social conservative. A lot of prominent conservatives lost here in Ontario and I fear there is a shift to a far more radical left leaning position among Ontario voters. The way people and the media talk about conservatives is disgusting. Everything and everyone conservative gets smeared as Trump and it's like they think they're voting against Trump. Our conservatives are very different from your republicans. But yet I believe Trump and the handmaid's tale influenced more voters than news and facts. I feel bad for the West but they need to get rid of Scheer. A social conservative will not win Ontario. probably ever.

As a long time BTS fan, I hope that they will enlist at their own accord, whether that is all together or in clusters. South Korean men all serve in the military and there is a huge sense of disgrace that comes with failure to enlist and serve (at this point in time, I think the best way to compare it Westerners is more of like a rite of passage for South Korean men into manhood. As it stands, it appears that all seven members feel the same way when it comes to military service and I think out of respect for history and their country that they will choose to serve even if the exception is given as it will also be seen as a positive influence for younger fans in South Korea as well, seeing people you look up to stand for their country will motivate them to also support and stand for their country. As for all the younger and Western hemisphere fans, don't worry so much about military service It's not like they are being put into the field with grenades, most of the time more influential service members end up in policing positions anyways. If anything, them serving in the military will be a well deserved break from the rough schedules that they have kept for so long. Let them have it everyone, please stop pushing for them to continue and let them live their lives.

Speak about #WEXIT #REDNEXIT in the next video you release: Separatism is has grown exponentially in the prairie provinces. They are calling for a referendum to make Alberta, Saskatchewan, and possibly Manitoba and British Columbia break-away from Canada and form their own country. The facebook pages for WEXIT (western exit) have gained hundreds of thousands of members in the last 4 days since Trudeau was re-elected. The main reason for them wanting to separate is because they feel heavily unrepresented in federal parliament and they wish to have more autonomy. There is even some talk about the possibility of Alberta ditching Canada to become a US state. Alberta is also losing billions of dollars per year in equalization payments to Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime Provinces. Also, thanks to the Quebec separatist movements and referendums, it is legal for a province or territory to secede from Canada without federal support. The current Premier of Alberta, Jason Kenney appears to be against secession, but a lot of Albertans are making it pretty clear that if he does not take a look at holding a referendum, this might be his last term as premier.

I mean ultimately its up to the government. Thats who makes the decision in the end. But even then if BTS are offered exception that doesnt mean the members wont still enlist. It just makes it optional. If they personally view it as their duty as Korean citizens, they may still choose to serve. But here is the thing: the exceptions have been granted for huge awards and like representations of pride for Korea. A different yet also substantial serves to the country. Because yes, soft power is extremely important. So for instance if BTS were to be nominated and win a Grammy award or something, that might be grounds enough for exception. As it stand right at the moment its hard to say. Though due to the economic impact they have and their global influence, it would make sense that the government officials involved are discussing alternate options. Whatever that means. But as of the moment BTS wont be enlisting this year so if something is set in place next year before Jin enlists, whatever alternate form of serves could be utilized.

here More specifically Alberta. Something that people from our province are trying to fight for is the fact that votes do equal seats in the house. The Conservative party won more votes but because the west of Canada has less ridings they technically have less seats in the house. So even though more people voted conservative, the Liberals got in because the east has more ridings giving them more seats in the house. The Province of Prince Edward Island has less people than the Banff riding in Alberta, how ever they had more than one riding meaning they have more than one seat. The ridings are not population based and are not spread evenly over the country. In fact the north territories in Canada have even larger ridings. While some in the east are city blocks. People from Alberta want to change the system so we can actually vote for our elected seat, but then also our leader so that votes actually matter more. Seeing that Conservatives had more votes by over 2000 and still didnt get office is not a fair voice.
