George Floyd went to prison 5 times, that last stint being for pointing a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach, pistol whipping her and her husband, then allowing other people to rob/ransack their house. this does not mean he deserved to die the way he did, but it does mean that after looking at that rap sheet it is logical for any policeman to approach him with extreme aggression/brute force ESPECIALLY since he was actively on Fentanyl/Meth in his system, as well as having narcotics on him directly. Black Lives Matter has been co-opted by violent racist bigots (many of whom are white. This is the hill you want to die on Ethan? The policeman involved is being charged and justice has been served, swiftly, so there is no further need for protesting/standing up for anyone as there were only a grand total of 9 unarmed black men that were killed by police during the past year, and the vast majority of them deserved it. Meanwhile, 19 unarmed WHITE people were killed by police during the same timeframe, and NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE because white americans are capable calling out their own when they screw up.

As a Native American we are well aware of the struggles and challenges of cultural oppression. My father can t even drive my little sister and her friend around without being pulled over and and check that they are okay and actually know him. The BLM movement is so important because not only is it starting such usually ignored topics but addresses the issue of how ingrained racism is in society. I m scared to have kids after seeing videos of newborns being snatched from their mothers arms for nearly no reason. I m scared of anyone I know being arrested in certain cities since I know how many people have died in police custody. I m scared of being killed and having my life brushed away like nothing just from the colour of my skin. I don t like cops, I don t trust cops and honestly I won t every call for the cops if I dont necessarily require their services. To even do that I ll still think twice.

The fact that the training is so short is shocking, when i was a poll worker in California it was a couple of hours but you got paid for it
Those machines Georgia got are complicated (it sounds like from Phils description its the same) if you dont have the machine right in front of you its really confusing.
My training had a presentation and then sample machines and ballots so we could practice using it, even with that people were confused on voting day, especially the older poll workers
This is voter suppression, lets think of the population breakdown of GA, you wouldnt want a large amount of black people to vote right now, now would you?

I don t really understand why a movie romanticising slavery is a problem. Do they think it s somehow going to encourage people to start campaigning to bring slavery back? I don t really care either way but I m sure nobody is going to be taking it seriously so it may as well stick around as a representation of what things were like.
I watched an old anime a few weeks ago. Very highly rated classic but I was totally stunned by how misogynistic it was. That shit wouldn t fly these days. But I thought it was extremely interesting to take a look back at what people thought was acceptable only 20 or so years ago.

Okay, Charlie Kirk is not People, Charlie Kirk is a coin-operated ideology dispenser, who's only function is to respond to literally anything anyone left of Hitler does with derision, just making up whatever claims he wants at that time to Support his Argument that fracking companies are paying him to spout.
And while Gone with the Wind is an important part of culture, you wouldn't just leave Triumph of the Will or Birth of a Nation up on a streaming site with no disclaimer. We need to RECOGNIZE when media is harmful, not just whine The liberals want to destroy western culture!

Please actually go to the Black Lives Matter website, and read the front page. They are calling for the dismantling of all western values, including the destruction of the nuclear family. Do you want violent racists demanding they raise your child for you so they can indoctrinate them into their cult from birth? These people are nothing more than radical fundamentalist Islamists/wannabee Communists and violent racist Antifa bigots hiding behind the Black Lives Matter curtain. For your own sake, READ THESE'S PEOPLE'S AGENDA BEFORE YOU STAND IN SUPPORT OF THEM!

The people trying to claim that removing Gone With the Wind is ERASING history, kindly stfu. Similarly to the removal of Confederate statues, that's not erasing history. By removing those statues and this movie, history is not being erased or rewritten, you can still read about and watch and learn about the history, but we aren't going to glorify it. You can learn all you want about the Confederacy, but we aren't going to praise it by having a statue of a Confederate general in front of a state capitol. Same with Gone With the Wind

I grew up hating the South. I grew up there, among people who prided themselves on their great grandpappys plantations, and girls who dreamed of being Scarlett O Hara.
I was surprised to find I liked the book. Yes, it s every bit as racist as everyone says, but I could understand the myth that those kids grew up believing. Yes, I believe it is a melodrama and a misportrayal of history, but I felt I could understand the kids I hated for their racism, and that s an important thing art can do, too.

I do find it odd that that was why they took Gone With The Wind down, because there are so many reasons for why they should not have it on their platform right now. My oldest sister used to love the movie and I never understood why. While the slaves were always happy to help (which always bothered me, even brought that up to my sister and she just didn't hear me or refused to answer why? , but the fact that she kept going to an abuser I will never understand. In the end she left him but gees.

I don't think, they should take (Gone With The Wind) off the streaming, playlist, I look at this particular, film as a history lesson, maybe I'm wrong but that's just my opinion.
I believe, if they wanna take a movie off of a streaming, list, please take that movie Mandingo off any list that's an awful, terrible, horrifying, traumatic, viewing experience, I watched, that damn, movie once and I wasn't right for a month afterwards! Smdh.
I nominated you take that shit, out of public viewing!
