I think celebrities are so disconnected from reality, whenever they do something woke it just comes off so terrible. Also, I mean they are professional actors, there is a reason they are where they are, so when they do or say things you should take it with a grain of salt because, well, you know, they could be acting. Also I think there is so much pandering going on right now, by politicians, by brands, that they'd rather say something to not lose your support or business. Like with the democrats doing the kneeling with the obviously look at us black people, we are one of you thing, it was so obvious they don't give two shits about black people beside their vote. I'm surprised we haven't seen Pelosi with corn rows yet. It's disgusting pandering and I hope people aren't actually falling for it. If they are they are no better than Trump supporters who fall for his b. s. and constantly pandering to his loyalist supporters. And on brands, do you really think a brand actually cares about you or do they care about how you will spend your money on them? Also side note, I found it so wrong and weird that celebrities went to George Floyd's funeral service. They don't really care about him, to me it screams publicity stunt, like their PR person was trying to get them seats there like front row tickets at a Lakers game. Most decisions come down to the, hate to be so cynical but prove me wrong.

When someone isn't a danger to themselves or others any use of force should be illegal. Any cop who wants to be thrown in jail for 10+ years immediately, excessive force should not and cannot be tolerated. It's unacceptable that Police are so utterly and completely incompetent that they can't peacefully subdue an unarmed person - every other first world country's police force can subdue people peacefully - even if they're armed. Why can't America's police do the same? In Canada a lone, unarmed officer can stop an armed gunman peacefully, in America they can't even pull someone over without ten guys piling on the person while tasing them. Police NEED to be held accoutnable for their actions. They've got an incredibly hard job, one I certainly would not want, but if you can't handle the job then you need to leave - that's not an excuse for complete disregard of the law.
Police are NOT the judge, they are NOT the jury, and they sure as hell aren't the executioner either. Their job is to protect the people and arrest people suspected of wrongdoing, their job is not to determine guilt or decide punishment. Everyone deserves a fair trial, that's the cornerstone of the law, a right all people are entitled to - enoughof Police taking it into their own hands and making that decision themselves.

I really don't agree with Phil on the race point. It seems so depressing and counterproductive to teach kids there is a current problem with racism in America.
Black people aren't treated the same, but it's not necessarily because of racism. Corona virus disprapotuntely hurts black people in America, but it's not because corona is racist.
Police don't target black people because they are black, it's a tentative issue but the class and cultural factor as a result of the average lower income seems to be a way larger factor.
In every case you're better being rich then you are being a certain race (rich black beats poor white, every time. I think the statistics speak for themselves at that point. Poor white and poor black are the victims of society, it's not a race issue, it's a class issue. Full stop.

I don't watch Live PD much but I whole heartedly believe that if you want police to wear body cameras (and they should) and you want that footage to be accessible to the public (as it should be) you should be advocating for shows like live PD. There's nothing more transparent that following police live. I also think it's tragic for anyone to die in police custody but we need to draw a clear line between excessive use of force for someone like George Floyd that did very little resisting and someone that runs from cops or leads them on a chase. More force is needed to subdue someone that is fighting you and just committed a crime. We can't just let people go because they might have a medical condition.

On the Take Responsibility video It really does come off as overblown and overproduced and artificial when they feel a need to make a big production out of it. Black and white footage, melancholy piano music, cross cutting between them all to say the same message. it's like watching a cheesy PSA. It's great they want to get involved but really they just need to be simple with it. Say please do this and donate your time or money to these causes we believe in it's very simple.

I will say the cops not reassessing the situation with him about keeping his health safe while arresting him and therefore resulting to his death is their wrong doing. And while what I'm about to say doesn't negate this, he was engaging in criminal activity using a vehicle as a deadly weapon and could have killed innocent people. With the cops knowing that, I can see why they we're using excessive force on him. The whole thing is just unfortunate.

Actually taking out abortion clinics wouldn't have a positive economic affect. It would likely be the opposite since women generally know if they're in a good financial, emotional, physical condition to raise children or not. Forcing them to have kids when they feel otherwise would just lead to more broken or less than sufficient upbringings regardless of the skin color of the demographic.

damned if you don't, damned if you do. as long as someone tries to help, spread the message and takes action, donates and speak out, i think there's no reason to bash them. they ask people to stand up and help, they have big reach, what's so bad about it? they don't gain anything from it really. focus on the racist opposers insted of attacking people on the same side
