Bon App tit Staff EXPOSE Treatment, HUGE Accusations, Test Kitchen DEMANDS, Adam Rapoport Resigns Vincent: Seems like Rapp got a bit screwed over there, the picture was ion 2004, we have developed a whole lot in the last 10 years, what is statute of limitations for casual racism? 20 years? 40?
As far as talent getting payed unequally that is purely because the ones with full shows bargained for more pay, when sohla gets hers (she is creative and bubbly so let's face it she is) if her show does better than brad's then she will most likely be payed more. Add a flat fee for recipe appearances and move on.

I don't disagree that there may be an abundance of white executives at BA, the issues here may reflect a printed media merging with video. That may result in compensation bases on the revenue of the video. As well, an assistant food editor won't be paid more than a senior. Do we expect Sohla to be paid as much as Claire when their roles and titles are different? As well, since the videos make them entertainers, the headliner of a show gets paid more than co-stars. Equality is essential in our society. but the differing job roles aren't equal. Even if the job titles are the same, the performance and amount of work may differ. so why should they be paid the same? If none of these things are applicable. then yeah, everyone needs to be paid equally.

it concerns me how spikes in covid cases was brought up right after mentioning protests. i dont think the intention was to make those things sound related but it could be taken that way and it's too early to know wether the protests will result in spikes proportionate to what we're seeing now due to the incubation period. the current cases are more likely the result of states in the US opening up too early and more-so memorial day which was two weeks ago as of monday. that being said having multiple states opening up with no testing or transmission tracking in place is hugely irresponsible. its been made obvious by multiple countries that testing and contact tracing are essential to controlling the spread of this virus.

On Bon Appetite: The Halloween outfit was not black face, it was a mild tan at best, was the outfit in poor taste and edgy, yeah it was, should a man get put on blast and lose his job over a moderately bad decision he made 16 years ago? No, I don't think so. And like Rapo said, chefs are fairly compensated for their work, even if all of them don't get paid for their specific video content, they do get paid, and I'm guessing they get paid way above minimum wage. So there's some shenanigans going on with Sohla's side of the story. But the outrage mob doesn't think, they react, and having them be judge jury and executioner in this SJW society is very dangerous.

Im Puerto Rican & i find the halloween costumes funny. Im secure and proud of my culture and wouldn't be anything else in the world. For the love of god have a sense of humor people and stop being so damn sensitive. Nothing's stopping you from dressing up as Alfalfa holding a piece of unseasoned chicken & saying you're a white guy. If you're not happy with your position in a company, then either ask for a promotion/pay raise or find a company that pays what you feel's your worth! At the end of the day, she had the choice to not accept that job! Im so tired of this sandy vag. I'm a victim & everyone's racist culture.

The Bon Appetit story floored me.
I've been watching their videos for years now, bought merch, contributed to their Reddit page. It seemed such a wholesome thing, so untouched by all the horrible things that the rest of the internet seemed full of. This has been a massive wake up call. I was so ignorant of all this, I didn't notice the lack of diversity in their recipes, the lack of diversity in their cast of presenters.
I didn't notice, I should have. White people gotta start questioning the media we consume. All media, even the ones that seem so innocent.

I'm sorry but this is getting ridiculous. She has worked there for 10 months; I don't care how much experience you have, you have to work your way up in a company. If someone has 10 years experience, all with BA, then they deserve to make more than you. You have to earn your bones with that company. So over this cancel culture BS. Everyone is offended by everything. 16 years ago, doing what he did wasn't seen as being racist or wrong. Holding someone accountable to today's standards for actions almost 20 years ago is just ridiculous.

When it comes to the Bon Appetit story, I think the reaction around the photo is blown out of proportion. This is a time when people are demanding justice for the horrible injustice and crimes that are committed to people of colour and by crying over something so trivial is diluting the message and dilutes the BLM message. The staff demanding equal treatment to their white coworkers is absolutely sth that should be spoken about, but the photo that looks like the couple took it after a week at the beach is an overreaction IMO.

how the hell will they have clear data on how frequent asymptomatic transmission is when these are exactly the kinds of transmissions that for the majority will be basically impossible to track back to. you get a covid positive patient and they don't remember exactly where and how they got it, so. how do you draw that conclusion that they got it from someone symptomatic, pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic. That's only guesswork, not science, and you'll more often than not end up guessing whatever suits your agenda.

Phil, please look at yourself for playing into the same hypocrisy you spent the first 6 minutes of the video addressing!
6 minutes of Bon Apetit disproportionate racial coverage, then ad read, and then immediately lead into showcasing two predominantly white male chef creators/platforms?
Be better because YOU are better. Walk the talk, don't just talk.
P. S. fan of yours since sxephil days. I know you grow and can grow. Thank you for striving to be your best you.
