The man made an apology video where he not only owned up to his past, he apologized, took complete responsibility, and DID NOT give an excuse.
It s one of the most annoying things when an explanation is taken as an excuse, there is a major difference. It s very apparent Shane was trying to explain his reasoning and his understanding for his own actions, he never makes it sound like those are an excuse. If anything I d say it further gives him credibility, he s acknowledging the faults that caused those mistakes, a sign that he know what needs improving and is trying to be a better person.
Unless he s actively repeating those mistakes his apology should be accepted and praised as an example of taking responsibility.

I m not upset. I m beyond upset. I m saddened and mortified that even while our country is on the brink of civil war, our president would rather not acknowledge the fact that he is either defending Russia or is too incompetent to read a report given to him. It s not your high school homework packet Mr. Trump. You re the god damn president of the United States. You don t get to skip out on some reading because you don t feel like it. If there s even a suspicion that a country we ve had issues with in the past, and has been in the news recently for shady stuff, is paying for the death of our troops, the president needs to look into that. He s on no ones side but his own. Innocent people are being killed in the streets by crooked cops and now brave young men and women are being sent away from home in the midst of thus crisis and they have targets on their backs with a price on their head. I don t know what to say anymore. My heart hurts. My mind is scrambled. Please stay safe everyone. Take care of each other. We have to stick together as the people of our nation.

Trump is usually someone that is looked at as saying the wrong thing/too much and potentially aggravating other countries needlessly. However, not jumping on a ongoing investigation about potentially several sources of terror against troops in the middle east. I realize there is no winning, especially with democrats that don't know how to do anything but cry and block actions. and yet. Those idiots pictured obviously would condemn him for action or perceived inaction. I will not claim trump to be a gold standard of excellence and perfect handling of foreign affairs, but i know that i still would rather him than most any of these dems. crying about whatever they think is right/will get them the most attention in that moment, unless Joe gets crotchety and curses at his supporters etc.

Honestly, I don't think racism will ever die. The genuine racists will never stop being racist, the non blacks that have ever made any race related jokes will never stop having to apologize for those jokes made whenever they were made, the ones trying to correct racism will never be satisfied by any law, apology, payment, or anything ever to move past racism having ever been a thing at all. It will never die when the side for it and the side against it actively choose to never let it die off at all.

tbh i do give the benefit of the doubt to people doing black face and passing them off, but when i think about it, why are they even doing it? idk sure i know it was in the times when it was acceptable but idk even in those times its still risque its still odd to do so i do feel bad for people who genuinely change (like jenna) but i wouldn't pass off black face as silly even if it was some sort of 2010 fad and everyone was laughing, i would still see that and think oh god no

I dont think Shane is a bad person or a pedophile. I just think he never realized he wasnt funny. You can make a joke about anything in this world. Rape, abortion, domestic violence, and pedophilia are all fair game. The key though is if you're going to make a joke about those subjects, it better be funny. If it's not, then it just make you look like a dumbass. Hence, what we are seeing here. Shane's chickens are coming home to roost.

Regarding the Shane Dawson situation you need to talk about the ask Milly series that he had which depicted extremely predatory behavior towards a character that was supposed to be 8 years old and the group chats that he had with 10 to 16 year old kids were he had them twerk to get his attention it's all really disgusting and disturbing and you should cover it because it is important to understanding the whole picture

Also: ::: Shane's apology came right after Jenna left the internet he was trending on twitter for people being like, why is jenna canceled when shane, Jeffery, and Trisha are still alive and well? So while I get this is connected to his controversy in the beauty community, I also would say it is connected to Jenna's video. Lots of people commented that on his video as well
