I'm glad they're changing the name of the Redskins. I just watched a standup special that was joking that nobody thinks of that name without only thinking of the team and, that it was named because of the original coach was nativity American and, he didn't have a problem with it, like he actually had a say in it. I'm almost 40 and, I knew that Redskin was offensive before I even knew it was also a baseball team. The fool even brought up the fact that there's a basketball team named the same thing from a high school in a reservation. That shit was in retaliation of the word not a keep it up. I know that a lot of people claim that so-and-so is the new N-word but R-skin is just as old and bad.

Trump tends to throw his people, no matter how loyal, under the bus as soon as things get difficult. I honestly believe that he wouldn't have commuted Roger Stone's sentence if it hadn't been for the coronavirus. He tends to distance himself from those under scrutiny publically at least while doing things on the down low to help them if they do remain loyal or dropping them entirely if they don't. He is super corrupt and despite how dumb he can be, I do think he realises it enough not to show it so blatantly most of the time.

Save the app. TikTok has given young people a louder and more influential voice in politics than they've ever had. Donald Trump is scared of that voice. He's scared of the political power held by them, because they're a threat to him. This isn't about national security, its about his re-election.
Also, I'd like to see all the conservatives that cry wolf about the democrats trying to bring Communism to America speak up when the american government tries to ban an entire company from doing business within our borders.

Even if TikTok was pure evil, the government doesn't have the constitutional authority to ban it. Any attempt to do so should be opposed by all of us, because we do not want the government to be able to rule by fiat.
At most, the government should put out some PSAs about TikTok and why they don't like it.
If you love Trump, imagine if Obama banned some app.
If you hate Trump, then realize that the public is capable of electing someone you hate, so you shouldn't want the government to have that much power.

At this point in Trump's presidency, he's been caught telling so many outright lies that I feel like the safest bet for everyone is to just believe that everything he says is either wrong or a lie - not in an Anti-Trump standpoint, but in a common sense standpoint at how much he's lied, provably so. Unfortunately, his supporters seem not to be able to make that connection themselves, and refuse to believe when they're told he's telling lies, even when they're given hard proof of it.

For the tiktok quesiton. Don't see to much wrong with banning the app, but don' think it should be when other apps that are just as intrusive are allowed. The ban is in such a gray area, because as far as company's and government, they can ban it. As far as prioritized companies, banning it should be up to them. There is more debate and discussion in what should be banned, but saying it should or shouldn't is the tip of the iceberg.

In science, beliefs are theories to be tested, deconstructed & studied. In science, data constantly changes. Nothing is passed as final drafts to be etched in stone.

what kind of information do people think users are giving tik tok? Its not like they ask for your social security number or credit card security code. Lets just assume its true that they hand all information over to china. Ok. so now. chinese shops can send me targeted ads? Just like google already does? I dont see the problem, at least not one that isnt already a problem on every american social media platform.
