The Truth About This Controversy, David Dobrik, Female Gamer Backlash, AOC, USPS, Fall Guys, & More Joshua: Studied game development for a few years and an attitude some people couldn't move past was the distinction between 'real games' and 'casual games'.
I remember a particular study that concluded that the average gamer was a 34 year old woman who played mostly on mobile, and that caused some heated arguments.
Let's face it, trying to draw lines in the sand between Dragon Cities and Pokemon, or Candy Crush and Doctor Mario, or Hearthstone and any other digital card game.
It's a pointless endeavour.
Hardware requirements make sense to talk about, but making arbitrary distinctions based on personal taste is never practical when talking about an entire form of media and the industry surrounding it.

so wait. in terms of the election I work with a clerk who helps work a location for voting.
We had a decent discussion about everything. Trump wants to minimize mail in voting, because of the lack of authenticity and integrity with the votes; while seemingly the Democrats want to all mail in voting to make sure all votes are counted. This is assuming both parties have wholesome intent.
Lets assume both parties have malicious intent: Trump wants to minimize mail in voting to suppress the vote (even though mail in voting to this scale has NEVER been done) while the Democrats want mail in voting so that they can cheat in some form or fashion seemingly since the votes cannot be verified through their integrity nor authenticity all just get counted.
First off, Dr. Fauci recently said that if you can social distance and wear a mask; then you can vote in person. So the top doc of the nation has given his stamp of approval for no need for mail in voting. Also according to the clerk, absentee ballots have been expanded to be used by those who do not want to show up at the voting booth. And I imagine since Trump has endorsed the absentee ballots and even done one himself, many are already doing that.
With that said, there is a university that did a test in reference to mail in ballots and it was a dramatic failure (Tim pool covers that article in one of his videos. And there was a mail in ballot attempt in New Jersey and in New York, both were a disaster. One 2 people were caught attempting to dump extra votes into the bin to be counted (glad they got caught, it makes me wonder how many did this without getting caught) and the other about 20% of the votes couldn't be verified of their authenticity so they were thrown out. Which means someones vote was probably just not counted simply because the entire process was not fool proof.
At this point, our election needs to only be based on absentee ballots and in person voting; so that if Trump does loose, he will have no excuse since he lost by he own endorsed method of voting.

The list of games that women enjoy may seem like it reinforces a stereotype, but it could also be statistically correct - it is possible for both to be true. Putting aside the question of whether or not there's even a need for such a list, the quality of writing, or possibly looking into the details of how this information was gathered (it's possible the survey itself was biased) - unless we say the author is straight up lying, it seems like we should accept the list at face value as representing popularity of games with women. Now, the fact that specific female gamers are not into these games, well that's their personal experience and is considered anecdotal evidence, not a statistic. The fact that Trisha, Meg or Justine and their friends play other games does not mean that those are the games that statistically most women play, and they should know better.

Laughing as I watch this. My older daughter was at a GameStop once when she was a tween. She was looking through the different GTA games that were out (as well as some other games along those lines) when a young man (a male tween) came over and told her that the girly games were on the other side of the store. She told him that she was fine. He continued to try to redirect her to girly games. At this point she shot him down, explaining that not only was she where she wanted to be, she was already playing some of these games and kicking a at it. He (needless to say) slunk away! My daughters are tough. No boy will make them feel like they can't do something. Girl Power is strong with them

Voting machines / mail boxes, have been removed / switched around constantly since the mails inception. With cost restraints, covid, etc this is hardly surprising.
This weird conspiracy theory that Trump is telling them to do this is dangerous, why is stuff like Qanon banned online, yet real dangerous conspiracies like this is accepted.
The postal service is a blockbuster service in a netflix word, its barely used anymore. Now they expect it to just instantly be able to cope with mass mail in votes with almost no time what so ever to prep.
Also whats with acting like Republicans don't vote by mail, it would be like shooting yourself in the foot.

The author clearly wrote that they surveyed female gamers, if anything this list is statistics results from the surveys. I don't get why people are getting so up in arms about this, get angry at the survey pool or the way the survey was done, don't get angry at the results.
If you flip a coin 10 times and it lands on heads more than tails, don't get pissed at the person saying that heads appeared more often; get pissed at how the results was gathered. Don't get pissed at the doctor who says that X type of person get diabetes more often than Y type of person; get pissed at how that data was gathered. Not their fault how people respond.

We have to remember that men and women lie on a spectrum. Women generally like people and men generally like things. That's not to say all women only like people and all men only like things. I think the article is entirely valid. We also have to remember there will be differences between anything - gender, race, culture - and it's important to investigate these differences, as it helps us be more inclusive in the future. There may be a reason why girls tend to like more happy clappy games, where as guys tend to like competitive shooter games. I feel the author was trying to do Science and produce an article many would find interesting.

1) proud that some of your source fed crew speaking up
2) it IS frustrating that e3 thought this was ok to begin with not what want to represent obviously it is, or it wouldn't have gone up. Some shortsighted (probably cis het white guy) thought this was probably funny. News flash, it isn't. It's damaging.
We need to grow up as a culture. Men love games, women love games. Adults, and children, elderly love games. Games are great. Can we all agree that the monolithic GiRls DoNt PlAy ViDyAgAmEs! They belong at home 1950s horse shit is damaging!

I honestly don't see a problem with the E3 article. I mean, if the author specifically chose games which statistically have a majority of female players, then what's the issue? Girls playing different games than those listed are going to feel misrepresented, but apparently this vocal group is a minority - at least that's what the stats show.
It's pretty dumb to publish something like this, because it's always going to spark controversy, but there are no lies in the article.

I am a 53 yo grandma who started playing D&D at 14. None of the games I ever have played look like anything on that sad, sorry list. My Steam library includes Star Wars, Outer Worlds, Skyrim and Witcher, and my phone game list has Jurrasic Park Alive, Black Mobile Desert and KOTOR, along with 25 other games. Btw gamergate is real, and there have been games i had to stop playing because moderators and gamers were/are asshats to female players.
Also AOC rules.
