I spent years hiding my lymphedema legs - not anymore - born different

A LIFE coach who suffers with Lymphedema has opened up about finding confidence in herself after years spent trying to cover her body in public. Evelyn Wilson-s condition causes a build-up of fluid in soft body tissues, and has particularly affected her legs and arms. The entrepreneur and life coach is on a weight loss journey and has already lost 71 pounds, but due to Lymphedema her legs will always remain swollen. Evelyn said: -I can continue to lose as much weight as I want to but these legs aren-t going anywhere. But instead of trying to cover up, I accentuate what I like about myself. I-m a human, this is me, this is who I am. Why would I cover it up because somebody else doesn-t like it?

Wow, you are cool. I was diagnosed lymphodema when I was 17 (now I am 38. Only my left foot and calf have this disease. Since then I use compression sock, and bandage. I also need to massage my leg and I was taught special excercises in the hospital. My condition is not as serious as yours, but sometimes I also feel pain. My leg's state has changed a lot from the fist treatment and become stable( It has less liquid. Keep going, you are beautiful. Don't hide it--

Does she have lymphedema in her arms also? What about her backside, back, and stomach? She is a beautiful woman inside and out. I just think much I'd that would go away with diet and exercise. It is much easier for fluid to return from smaller area. Good for her for losing 71 pounds. She looks great, I hate to see her accept this Fate because she thinks -no matter how much weight I lose it will still be there-. It may still be there. but alot less of it.

The guy had a point. KIND of. You don't have to flaunt your body with as little clothing as possible any more than you have to cover it up in shame. You can just be you without having to go to one extreme or the other. also, I hope that teacher found a new career path because she was NOT someone who needed to be teaching or influencing children, thats for sure.

I'm so happy you dance, because I think dancing is a really beautiful way to express oneself and you have such a unique body that you really bring something new and special into the world of dancing. And the bikini dance - girl you look glamorous! Thank you for that!
