DAVONNY, 21, and Robin, 25, are a trans couple who met online and have been together for eight months. Robin told Truly that they both swap genders and are planning to have a baby together. Davonny was born male but doesn-t identify as male or female, going by the pronouns 'they/them' and is currently transitioning. Davonny explained that they knew they were trans when I was probably about 13. For a while I didn-t feel comfortable being trans because it already felt there was a lot of hate towards being gay and bi, so I was like, 'if they-ve got a problem with them, what are they going to say about me? ' Continuing that I don-t feel like I-m a guy or a woman, I feel like I can be whatever the hell I want to be. Robin is a trans male who knew his identity at a young age, but said he grew up in a very small hillbilly town so I repressed it for a long time. It-ll be almost 10 years that I-ve been out, living my truth, being me. When he first came out he was shunned by his friends, all of them except for one cut me off. In school everybody cut me off, everyone pretended I didn-t exist, so I kind of lost a lot when I came out. The couple discussed their future plans together early on in their relationship, one of the first things we talked about was that we both wanted to have kids, Robin said. We didn-t want to adopt, we didn-t want to pay for surrogates, we wanted kids that were ours, that were literally our DNA. They have both stopped taking hormones for their transitions while they try to get pregnant, which has been difficult for their emotions. I was actually fairly far in my transition and I started feeling like myself and feeling really comfortable, so having to stop wasn-t really the greatest. Making those sacrifices was like being an addict going through withdrawal. Davonny explained. If you want to have children being trans it-s definitely something that can take away your ability to have children, and they do let you know that but I don-t think they urge it enough, like they should definitely be like 'honey, you better not want kids because after two years, you probably ain-t gonna have them. ' The couple has faced a lot of judgement for being in a trans and interracial relationship. Robin said they get asked questions like, 'why did you guys transition in the first place? ' A lot of people will be like 'what-s that little boy gonna do with all that woman, you-re not gonna handle her'. In this episode of Love Don't Judge Davonny's mom and brother come over to discuss the couple's plans to have a child together, and their initial reactions when Davonny first came out to them. Sky, Davonny's mom has admitted that she struggled with the new pronouns to begin with. She said, it was a shock. I-m thinking, 'oh my gosh, are you gonna cut your parts off? ' and all this other stuff, so it was kind of tough. Adding that, some people haven-t accepted it and they respond to things like that in a very violent way, so I was concerned. I know someone who-s gotten killed over something like that

A perfect example of social contagion. What they are sharing here exemplifies the fact that gender identity/expression is a social construct. Each has adopted socially constructed affectations, no human being has ever been born that acts flamboyant or butch until exposed to it - period. Disagree? Of the billions of people ever born cite one example of a toddler that acts with flamboyant or butch affectations WITHOUT EVER BEING EXPOSED TO IT FIRST. Yeah, I didn't think so.
BUT, ultimately, why should any of us care how each other CHOOSES to act? Live and let live. These two appear to be happy, let'em be them. No it's not -natural-, but neither is a cis ACTING out their -gender-, cis affectations and all. They deserve the right to be who or whatever they CHOOSE.

Reading all these negative comments about them having a baby really makes me feel angry. Most people don't worry about a cis couple having a Baby after a short time being together. A lot of couples are getting married young, they buy a house and have a child. Why should this couple be deprived from that natural experience? Wanting to have children has nothing to do with gender!
A man can give birth to a baby if he has an uterus, that's the case right here. He is not less of a man. She is not less of a woman for not carrying that child!
Wish you both and your family THE BEST!
You are very inspiring!

Romans 1: 26-28
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

What she said is actually good advice. Doctors need to be more upfront with what hormones can do to the body, and should offer and provide ways to people transitioning to save their eggs/sperm so they can have the option to have children later on. Now 8 months doesn't seem long enough to know if kids are a good idea imo, but maybe they're going a little -faster- than most because they have this fear if they don't do it now, they may not be able to.

To the transphobes. You're only seeing a very small percentage of a diverse and vast demographic and there are a lot of you who Don't actually know trans people in your personal lives. All my trans homies don't take stuff personally, are often very easy going agreeable people who are straight up just vibing. I wish people online wouldn't pick the loudest voices on social media and paint an entire group of people one way.

Not to rain on Davonny's parade but the struggle of black women and trans women ( even black) is NOT the same. Stats shows that around 4 black women are murdered EVERY DAY in the US. How many trans women were murdered this year? Obviously, both type of murders are terrible and shouldn't happen but saying that our struggle is the same is really minimizing the violence issue that us black women face.

Think about the baby beforehand. I've been 3 years with the love of my life, we're going to marry now and we want to build a family, but still, we need to be sure we're going to be able to provide what's needed for the baby. 8 months is just too early in my opinion. That aside, be happy!

there's so many children waiting in foster care, dreaming of having a mom and dad someday. I wish more people would adopt. I advertise these kids year after year after year. Some age out of the system and never get to have parents. It's heartbreaking.

I hate how they lump black women and trans women in the same category. Smh. Pisses me off. a black woman is a woman. a trans woman was one a male who knew identifies as a woman. its 2 different things

Next time Truly will accept a 58 y old man who identify as a 15 y old teenage boy who date a teenage with the same age.
And everyone will accept them. The overton window will accept pedophilia again

Something is seriously wrong with you if you're encouraging this madness. Imagine encouraging an anorexic to embrace their mental illness. See how crazy thit s--t is.

Full power to them. Does anyone remember that bear guy who identified Kodiak brown bears as being friendly. That worked out pretty well in the end didn't it -
