I also got dentures young I think I was around 28 years old when I got in a bad car accident, and had to get dentures cents. I-m not out and chipped a lot of my teeth and my only option really was to just get all of my teeth removed and get dentures, and I was very self-conscious about them and I don-t tell people that I have dentures only in my close friends and family know that I wear dentures but you shouldn-t be in any pain wearing them as well as they shouldn-t be so loose that you have to put that disgusting fix-it in Stuff on your dentures to keep them in if you have a great dentist, then after your gums have healed, you shouldn-t be in any pain and they should fit perfectly but I am now legally, deaf, blind and dentures are the least of my problems now, and trying to learn how to live my life as a blind person is more of the hardest thing in my life right now. I-ve been wearing hearing aids since I was four years old and I have about 60-62 - small hearing loss but the technology with hearing aids since the 80s have come such a long way they have Bluetooth and everything but I am new to earning how to live my life blind and that-s the hardest thing for me to deal with, so no, so are you both?

Honestly, trying to save those teeth likely would've been more trouble than it was worth, anyway. While it was for different reasons (he has a periodontal subtype of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, my dad's teeth had all crumbled down to nubs by the time he was 19yo (1971. He opted to do anything and everything to salvage what was left and spent the next 30-ish years in constant pain, undergoing countless procedures that really just delayed the inevitable. He got dentures in his early 50s and the difference in his demeanor afterwards was night and day. He said he wished he'd taken the leap years earlier.
The big question should always be: Is the temporary cosmetic result worth all the suffering and financial burden? And I imagine for a lot of people, the answer is no.
Keep on being your fabulous self, girl! The work you're doing is so important and is clearly making a difference in people's lives ---

I had genetically bad teeth. And I had dentures put in. I wouod go ahead and just get the rest pulled out girl. And whoever did your dentures did a horrible job! They look too big for your mouth and they could have made them whiter. I wouldnt wear those either. Mine are white and wonderful. I havemt used adhesive in 2 years. You just have to have a great dentist. You can get flawless results. And yess i pop mine out to look like horse teeth and freak people out. Its hilarious

I had to have all my teeth removed when I was 29 due to Sjogren's Syndrome and Gastroparesis. I should of had it done so much sooner because things had gotten very bad by the time I was able to get things taken care of but I was also so ashamed and embarrassed that I had made peace with the fact I'd never know what it felt like to have a nice smile or teeth and just live with the pain and shame.
You are absolutely gorgeous, hun -

Oh, my gorgeous darling. You are so so so strong. I can't believe you've adjusted to something so significant! I do a lot of introspection and work on myself, and I don't think I could psychologically handle it, but you seem so upbeat. And you look gorgeous. I'm not just being polite by saying all this.
Keep smiling, sweet thing. I genuinely think you look great.

I started on a medication 2 years ago and it has left me with 1 front top tooth and 4 bottom teeth that are all broken! August 28th I will be put under to have all my teeth taken out. Will eventually get dentures but boy my self esteem is so low because of my teeth. It sucks so bad! Always holding my hand in front of my mouth when talking/laughing. So embarrassing!

My teeth started crumbling after 2 pregnancies and an autoimmune diagnosis. I can't afford the $34, 000 to root canal/crown what remains, nor do I have $10, 000 to pull everything and get dentures. I dropped all my friends, turned into a hermit, wear a mask out in public andnquit smiling or laughing. It sucks that dental work is considered elective cosmetic care.

She gets so much hate online for having no teeth. What people don't know is that a lot of medications can decay your teeth and they fall out that's what people aren't educated about. I have a few false teeth in my mouth because some of my medications made some of my teeth rot and it doesn't make me feel good. I have about seven false teeth in my mouth

Having messed up teeth or no teeth can really impact a person. Especially a young person. Your upper lip changes shape when you don't have teeth up there and it does make the person look older. My medication was slowly decaying my teeth as well. I do not have it so bad, but even with the few that have needed to come out, all back teeth, it impacts my self esteem.

My friend lost all her teeth bc she fell on a marbel table when she was 8. Al her teeth were slowly falling out of her mouth. She didn't like her dentures and never wore them. I liked how she was without them. She wore them once for an event, and it was not her. She didn't smile once. (I write in the past, bc she died 3 weeks ago, very young still)

I used to get picked on all the time because of my teeth. I would cry after school and even in my adult life people picked on me because of my teeth. I-ve gotten my teeth fixed but I still want to hug younger me - and punch those assholes in their face.
She-s beautiful and I hope she never lets anyone tell her different -

Knocked a front tooth out and had a denture there from 26 to 35 - was embarrassing and so never told anyone. Really knocked confidence.
I then finally 3 years ago go veneers on all teeth. Was the best money I have ever spent
Slightly different story but I hope this helps someone

So brushing after throwing up is actually worse than what, just rinsing your mouth out with water really well? I mean what's the alternative to protect your teeth if not to brush after getting sick, and how long should one wait to brush in order to avoid damaging their enamel?

She still looks very attractive, and I like her personality. She seems strong, positive and resourceful. Despite what she went through, she's not letting it hold her back. Glad she has an awesome partner who appreciates her too

I'm on anticonvulsant medications and other medications that cause severe dry mouth and I'm terrified of this happening to me! I take really good care of my teeth, but I have cavities already and it really scare me.

She is really sweet and still so pretty. I really love the ending of this video, the things she said can be applied in many other situations in life and used as a form of inspiration. I am glad she is doing this.

Look into getting permanent dentures! They would put 4-5 implants on top n bottom and screw the denture in! It wouldn-t move anymore! You can get ones that snap in and out or ones that are fixed into place!

Did you get gastroparesis? I have that and it causes me to vomit when I eat when I-m in a flare. Sometime it can last months at a time where I-m reliant on tube feeds and iv hydration.

Crazy how easily some countries give out such heavy painkillers. Anyways, I hope she-s doing good and it-s good to spread awareness that even young people can lose their teeth. -

I lost all my teeth due to lupus a few years back. It was very very difficult to get used to & it really impacts your self image. Good luck in your journey.

alot of drs will prescribe pain meds that can sometimes make you sick but it-s malpractice to keep them on that medication, especially to this extent.
