Civil rights activist Rosa Parks (February 4, 1913 to October 24, 2005) refused to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a segregated Montgomery, Alabama bus, which spurred on the 381-day Montgomery Bus Boycott that helped launch nationwide efforts to end segregation of public facilities. The city of Montgomery had no choice but to lift the law requiring segregation on public buses. Rosa Parks received many accolades during her lifetime, including the NAACP's highest award

her statement contradicts the narrative of Maya Angelou at the end
-People always say that I didn't give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn't true. I was not tired physically, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was forty-two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in- - Mrs. Parks

I am pleased that Rosa Parks was willing to stand against Democrat racism and segregation (the only kind that has ever been legalized and systematized in America. Unfortunately, as with most Democrat messaging - erroneous, misleading - her story was neither the first of its kind nor unique. See Claudette Colvin, and even earlier and more importantly, Ida B. Wells.

Why is doing what-s right back then not realised till years later?

Rosa Parks made a choice that led to a positive lasting change in the Civil rights movement. She even has the front bus seats dedicated to her long after she passed away.
