In this episode of Crash Course Chemistry, Hank gives you the low down on things like London Dispersion Forces, Hydrogen Bonds, Cohesion, Adhesion, Viscosity, Capillary Action, Surface Tension, and why liquids are just. WEIRD! Pssst. we made flashcards to help you review the content in this episode! Find them on the free Crash Course App!

I respectfully disagree that liquids are more rare than solids or gases, at least here on Earth. The mantle and outer-core are both -liquid- and occupy far more mass than either solids or gases combined. We get the impression that liquids are more rare only because of the window of temperatures and pressures found at the surface.

To summarise.
There are more solids than liquids, and more liquids than gases.
higher the density of the liquid than the container higher the convexing,
lesser the density of the liquid than the container higher the concaving.
Gravity at a non-classic physics level.

There's this concept called -sublimation- where basically solids go straight into their gaseous state (due to pressures and something else, and while I don't know much about chemistry, I think that is a contributing factor.

Liquids are less common than solids and gasses I think it's because they can only exist within a very hot temperature or cold (as in milk) and as well when it rains (cycle of life) which goes for pressures.

I'm sure its in the comments some where, but how would the world look and operate. if solids were the rare ones and not liquids? (please discuss in reply's because I'm curious of other peoples thought on this)
reply

Water is a liquid at room temp era because of hydrogen bonding. Otherwise it would be a gas.
Gallium is notable because atoms that heavy are usually toxic. Gallium, chemically is quite similar to Aluminum.

How i bulid my concept in chemistry ---- plz anyone help me out i m doing Mastr in chemistry but not even have concept to convey my msg to others or solve problems reagrding chem -------
reply

Never mind liquids. How weird are solids? Like, you can walk on the ground without sinking into it, even though it's mostly just empty space? Whaaaat?
reply

I often chuckle while watching crash course, but I just had to pause the video to laugh about Hank-s training as a professional idiot.
reply

I think this is the first time a sentient atomic life form chastised an atomic molecule of Gallium for turning into a shapeless form
