Epic History TV brings you a blow-by-blow account of the entire Waterloo campaign in 14 minutes, with animated maps and artwork, plus rarely seen photographs of survivors of Napoleon's army. In 1815, eight miles south of Brussels, two of history's greatest generals met in battle for the first and only time: Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of the French, and the Duke of Wellington. The result was an epic, brutal battle that would decide the fate of Europe. PaulLonden: Rather than face France after his defeat or swallow that famous poison flask around his neck, he decided to surrender to the British where at least he still could count on being treated as royalty.
A war mongering bastard living for war and using his conscripts as cannon fodder for his own narcissist goals.
A nation must be really lost for figureheads to desperately keep regarding this pot bellied Corsican as her national treasure. What does that tell about a nation? Most of France's former colonies unsurprisingly remain hellholes, while most former colonies of for example the Dutch or British at least resemble somewhat their former masters.
Thank the gods the bastard was defeated or else he would've treated the rest of Europe as another French colony.

The statement wrapping up the guard's attack is totally fake and illusive
The guard attack failed first of all due to lack of cooperation and seperating the attack to three waves, secondly due to kramer's guns and their flanking canister, and finally and most decisively due to the dutch column's charge. The british red coats didn't rise to meet them not at all they were in the prone state due to the cannon fire and when one of the guard waves which was not the main wave approached them they stood and surprised it, your narration showed as if the red coats were the ones who defeated yhe guard which totally wrong, and as if they defeated them becausr they were better! Which is wayyyyy too wrong
I believe if napoleon was the one who lead the guard, and in addition he picked the 1st and 2nd battalion to the fight not keeping them to guarf the treasures, and coordinated the three waves into one well lead atack it would have broke through the british, and especially if their was some cavalry to support on the right flank of the attack and get rid of kramer's artillery

After watching this whole series, it is even more baffling how much the Brits overemphasize their role in this whole thing. If you didn't know better you would think that they defeated Napoleon all by themselves, while in reality all other coalition members did the heavy lifting (and bleeding. Brits just engaged in some periphiral action and swooped in for the kill-steal at Waterloo. To be fair They DID however play a VERY important economic role, basically bankrolling 2 coalition wars. They should be celebrating their bankers and merchants instead of Wellington, lol!

No mention of Nathan Rothschild taking over England by routing the bond market, selling his bonds, crashing the market, and buying up the entire British market at the bottom? Nathan got word of the British victory a day ahead of all others. The Rothschilds ruled Europe for the next two hundred years. The Battle of Waterloo is where the Jewish Rothschild's family took control of Europe to end in the creation of Israel, founded by Zionists in 1946. Rothschilds funded WWI, WWII. Amazing.

Waterloo 1815: The British Army's Day of Destiny is a great read. Tells you what the British withstood and how hard they had to fight throughout the day. They were men amongst men. Also, tells you how courageous the French infantry and how they tried to smash the British centre line which they charged into almost knowing they were headed for certain death. Unbelievable bravery from both sides.

It's been said that Napoleon's army commanders were incompetent and Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte when attacked it was already too late. Also Napoleon had some favored French Kings who had influence over British court. They requested the British to give Napoleon a slow death after being captured. That's why the British soldier killed Napoleon slowly by mixing little Mercury everyday with food.

The Napoleanic Wars Fascinate me. The way I see it is without Napoleons actions forcing The Great Coalition we don't have the same set of circumstances that led up to WW1 and WW2. I know there was alot of other factors involved in the 100 years in-between but I see it as what shaped pre World War Europe and eventually led to the alliance system that led to WW1

Im joining the fun. Wellington was never actually beaten in battle. He was mauled in a battle in India, but not bested. For 200 years the French have whined, made excuses and stretched the truth, but fact is fact: he ran the little fellow off the battle, handed him over to subordinates, who didnt turn him loose until St Helena.

I wanted to watch this historic account to understand the battle that my ancestor Peter Littig fought alongside Napoleon. Peter was buried in Davenport, Iowa with the inscription on his monolith a soldier of Waterloo. Later he married 4 times having been a widower each time and fathering numerous children.

I'm the end, the population of France saw Napoleon for the psychopathic tyrrant that he was, and they turned against him -- desiring peace. Great to watch this episode, to see militarism fail along with All of Napoleon's dreams and plans. So beautiful!

One comment: The french troops werent veterans as you said. Beside Old Guard, were fresh recruits, poorly trained, outdated arms, and lack of discipline. Add to wet terrain, hills to hide from cannon fire, superior arms, etc. Napoleon hadnt had a chance

The Elite Guard weren't so Elite after all. It makes you wonder what would have occurred if Blucher hadn't have arrived, the Elite Guard had stood their ground, and why Ney had marched into oblivion - sounds like he became too cocky.

I love that we have pictures of people born in the 1700s! Its just INSANE! This is a little taste of the past that touches me deeply in a way I cannot describe. We are all connected

The French and Germans have caused more trouble in Europe than all the other countrie put together. Even today the French are always hostile to us. Its a great pity.

Now used proverbially, referring to a swan song.
It's worth remembering 50 000 died for political games. A tragedy more than a flourish.
Plus ca change.

So, Napoleon was not a great general after all. he lost his final battle, his kingdom, his Grand Armee and even his family. he bit more than he can chew.

Just happened to watch this yesterday and today Jul 13, 2022, I see an article indicating that Battle of Waterloo skeletons uncovered in Belgium

Pedantic nitpick - Britain did fight on the continent between 1815 and 1914. in the Crimean War, which is odd because the video even mentions it.
