9 GREATEST UNSOLVED MYSTERIES OF ANCIENT HISTORY - History Countdown paul: It seems to me in ancient times they did not have science to prove or disapprove their theories of an afterlife. One believed what their leaders said was true. The advent of science has changed all that. So far science has not proven that anything happens to us after we die except we cease to exist. Of course, religion is the home to what happens to us after we die. Now, if science can prove we have a soul that is immortal, this will change everything.
