Parking lots 25 cents I wonder if that was per hour? That would be $2 per day. And if you had a monthly rate, it was probably in the neighborhood of $35 for a month. Wow! The Cost of living has sky rocketed. Each of those antique/collectable cars were worth on the average of $1, 000. a brand new car back then cost about $2, 500- $3, 000. Some brand new cars were cheaper than that depending on the make, model, and amenities. You could feed a family of 4 for about $15-$20 per week. Gas was about. 26 cents a gallon. Phone calls cost a nickle to a dime. Man oh man things have changed so much.

This is hard for me to explain, but I can't imagine actually LIVING in this time and seeing everything as it actually is. I just can't imagine the 60s without black and white or film grain. So I love these videos and think they're very cool

Most of the not-flagship phones still wouldn't be able to capture it like this

For those who arent american, you have to compare this video from this date to the one recorded of the city you live right now back then and then youll understand how america was so advanced back then.

The person making this video must have been thinking that people in 2023 will see what it was like her in Hollywood back in the 60's-. And I am so thankful he/she did! This is so cool. ROCK ON!

Before all the shithole rodents invaded and festered everything into scunge. and the hoes were allowed to hijack everything and run it into the ground. Time for a serious reboot.

You need to refilm this route today, matching it as close to these shots as possible and then do a side-by-side comparison video. It would bring you an insane amount of views.

I remember this, I also remember the bad things that was going on also. But yes things were very different from today. Evil sure has fully engulfed Amerikkka now.

I was born in the early 60s, so by the time I was in preschool, I could remember when the roads across America still had many of these classics of yesteryear!

Love these clips - Fantastic cars up to 1962 Cadillacs, clean streets, hard working busy people, car washes for 50 cents and parking at 25 cents per hour!

What a great video. I've lost all of my grandparents and I couldn't help thinking about how they were in their 40's when these videos were made. I miss them.

I love watching historical footage, and the last two minutes, it's going back another 15-20 years. Fascinating!

Thanks for the memories! I moved to LA right after high school graduation in 1962 and I worked downtown.
