13: 14 Definitely Omaha Beach. Notice once they get on the sand the intense fire make them all drop to the ground. We'll never know if some of them either got hit or dropping to avoid getting hit, the intensity of the the German fire will get worse as the GIs move their way across that beach.
If I can remember, this portion of Omaha Beach was blanketed by smoke from a fire (grass burning) and gave a little bit more protection from German machine guns, but it probably didn't protect the coming 2nd and 3rd wave.

your restoration methods are wonderful, Ive seen this in BW scratchy and jerky many times. Hopefull it can be done to more at lower cost and faster speed; recall the huge effort done to make -they shall not grow old', it would be great to get some lip reader transcription of any of the actual verbiage rather than the narration. thank you for great work.

My father was a WW2 veteran, but he came up to northern EU from Anzio. He survived the war, but. my mom said he was never the same as before the war. Remember to thank these men in the quiet of your hearts who gave their all to maintain our freedoms and defeat fascism, Nazism and authoritarianism which is raising its ugly head yet again.

It's surreal to see all this an know my grandpa survived it. 101st ABN 502 Fox Co (Glider Infantry. He passed away in 2021 on Christmas day. Told me a lot of wild and interesting stories some lighthearted and adventurous and some heartbreaking and raw and all told from the perspective of a 20-year-old.

The clarity of this restored footage is astonishing. The other astonishing feature is that there was NOT one gender-confused man wearing a dress to be seen anywhere. It's just as well that all the men in this film are dead because they'd be heartbroken to see what the future in 2023 looked like.

i dont know who invented this terrible technique, but false colorization is the absolute worst looking thing you can do to old footage. colorized? oh you bet, in fact, everything on screen is a swirling pulsating amorphous rainbow fever dream. it's completely unwatchable
