How the Ottoman Empire was Carved Up Documentary AdamESD: Everyone is hating on the British for their lies and back room agreements that screwed everyone else and resulted in a fractured Middle East seemingly forever at war with itself.
And thats understandable, since the British did lie and promise the same thing to multiple different people to get their support, knowing some of them were going to get screwed.
But anyone who has spent any time in the Middle East and knows anything about Middle Eastern history and cultures knows that they were perfectly capable of endless conflict among themselves without any help from the British. So blaming the British for all the ills there sort of misses the point. If they want to advance and and tamp down on the conflicts, they can do it, if they have the willpower, wisdom, and patience to do it. And they can start by not obsessing about things like the S-P treaty all the time and just get down to fixing the situation instead of moaning about it.

None of the borders that are there today are natural, and cut through communities which are speaking the same language and believing to the same sect.
If it was to be divided in accordance with the facts on the ground, there would be three states in the North: Kurds, Sunni arabs, shiites. It is also important to note that even though Turks somewhat have won, British deprived them of important oil fields which hampered development within newly created republic of Turkey.
And when Iraq and Syria got their independence, because of the reasons given they both eventually fell into chaos and their resources benefited no one.
Don't remember from who, but there was a quote if two are fighting on something, a Britishman have just passed from there (sorry if I remember the quote wrongly lol)

So basically, 50% of the entire history of this planet, has involved Britain and France, squabbling between each other all over the world to gain certain territories and fighting wars between each other. Until the last couple of centuries when they turned against everyone else, join forces to favour their own interests against other nations.
This is like a relationship with domestic violence, in public. Things slowly escalate and it comes to the point, where it seems, violence might happen, Somebody random comes to help wwho they think is the victim, then both the boyfriend and girlfriend, turn on the stranger, as in mind your own business. :-D

I can't believe how you managed to make a video about carving up the Ottoman Empire following its fall after WW1 without mentioning the plans on dividing it up in Anatolia (the treaty of Sevres) and how it didn't work out because of the national movement in Turkey that took the situation from Turkey being a very small country that's basically a British puppet to a fully independent state that has twice the land that it otherwise would have had the treaty of Sevres worked.

Turkeys borders also drawn by the same powers in 1923. So all borders were drawn based on agreement between British and French imperialism at the end of the day. All Middle East states born as puppet states including Turkey with agreement Lausanne in 1923. Therefore none of these borders are legitimate not result of people will but imperialist powers will.

Part of me wonders if the Middle East would be more stable if the Kingdom Of Arabia did form, or would it just be a case of Turkey hates Arabia hates Iran.
I am pretty sure however that this comment is gonna start a war of its own in the replies.

Crazy how utterly unfair this war was for the losers. 3 empires dismantled forever. If I remember correctly, were the ottomans not even aware of what the entente intended to do to their country when they signed an armistice?

Make it Constantinople again. With that being said, the global western elite problem the world over all stems from the brits. Remember history is written by the winners, and the English continue to get erode western society

Even in this funny history video
People ignore the fact that there is a nation called Palestine.
The Right and justice may be overwhelmed but they won't die nor forgotten.

I feel like the Brits should have supported the Shariff of Mecca instead of the Sauds, they're much better and the Arabian peninsula would've been as rich with their oil anyway

Once again, Something is very bad in this part of the world, but why? is answered with The British did it and told everyone else to go to hell. Whelp, no surprises here. :-(

ive always felt like everyone was still a little resentful at the Ottoman Empire for bringing down Constantinople and ending the Byzantine aka the East Roman Empire.
reply

Give me free land.
You lost the war immediately and probably wont carry on the charge once we free you.
WHY ARE YOU SO EVIL!
-France and the UK

reply

And the most important effect: stealing Palestine from its real land owners and giving it to scattered immigrants!
And since then wars never end

reply

You know you messed up when your enemies are immediately discussing who will annex which part of your country before the fighting even starts.
reply

1: 24 So was Britain actually going to give them all that land or were they just using that to get France out so they can take it all?
reply

Britian and France want to return to the Middle East. Macron still considers Lebanon and Algeria as French countries and under their rule.
reply

Question, was the kindom of arabia suposed to rule over all of the rest of the arabic peninsula? Or oman and yemen would remain british?
