THE HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES in 12 minutes

THE HISTORY OF THE PHILIPPINES in 12 minutes There are two major gaps in this history. The first is the two waves of Negrito migration starting around 50 kya (perhaps preceded by Denisovans) from mainland Asia and the now submerged Sundaland as evidenced by the extensive genetic study from Uppsala University published in 2021. The second is the mention of the term -Austronesian- with no further explanation. Austronesian is the designation for the group of languages that stretches from Madagascar to Easter Island and which has its origin in the aboriginal people of Taiwan. The spread of this language family was from Taiwan to the Philippines and from the Philippines south, east and west. The influence of the Taiwanese settlers and their descendants was so pervasive the the Negritos lost their original language as did other groups that preceded the Austronesian speakers (Manobo and Sama, per Uppsala. In this telling, the migrants from the south - Indonesia and Malacca - were actually back-migrants from the Philippines. If we were to equate language with race (controversial) then the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal, popularly known as -The Pride of the Malay Race- should actually be designated as -The Pride of the Formosan (the Portuguese name for Taiwan) Race-. While the pre-history of the Philippines remains a subject for research, the Negritos and Formosans are important parts of the story and need to be included.\r\n

there's a correction on marcos dictatorship. he was removed by the chronies of cory aquino together with the help of US and CIA. fake presidend cory aquino usurped ferdinand marcos and became d fake president of the Philippines until she was replaced by other more legit presidents that are under liberal parties. so much for the historical manipulation claiming this is revitionism.
in the present, the son of what they so called dictator is now the President of our country Bongbong Marcos earning 31 million votes from the people which was way way way larger win against the liberal party rep fake vice president leni robredo. if Ferdinand marcos was a real dictotor, no one would ever dare vote any of his family but it really shows it's not really true. and ferdinand marcos was one of the best president of the Philippines. he was far from being a dictator which was claimed by our lying mainstream media. oh well our bongbong marcos being the president is the proof of this. other bitter losers are still crying about this claiming the voting was cheated but they can't even file a single electoral protest ---
the rest of the history about phils is perfectly a true knowledge for me. thank you for making this video.

Instead of rafts and boats, it was thought the first people came by land during the ice age where the lands were connected by ice bridges, then thawed so it divided the land into islands. The first people were from africa hence the darker skin and curly hairs, these people are called aetas or -itas-. These people migrated 60, 000 or more years ago and they are still considered hunters and gatherers so boat is technically not yet invented.
The whole continent of Europe and asia were still connected also known as -Eurasia- so its either the islands got separated by earthquakes since it is in the ring of fire, or by ice as mentioned above and got thawed in 10, 000 BC.

I know this is a 12-plus minute(s) history lesson on the Philippines, but there was some info that should have been included like the British invading and occupying Manila in the years between 1762 - 1764. Also, I cringe on the words of places and the people's names being anglicized by the narrator. I suggest those words and names be correctly pronounced and enunciated from the original language those words and names come from. Lastly, I will share this short version of the Philippines history so other folks that I know in the United States of America and other countries become more knowledgeable about where my roots are from since I was born and raised in the USA.

Fun fact: The UN (china included) signed declaration in 1945 Philippines Independence including sovereignty of all the surrounding islands, exclusive economic zone which ALL countries have. -
It was the World's greatest peace statue of the 20th century. -
Philippine aboriginals, ancestors of modern day Filipinos who have inhabited the land for 60, 000+ years finally have Independent nation state they call home. This is how nations are created, how civilizations form. Facts are facts.

Why did you stop at Corazon Aquino, she have done so much worst in the Philippines during her era. Ferdinand Marcos intentions was to keep Philippines on top, that-s why other countries look after Marcos before because of how successful he has done to Philippines. America was threatened, and used puppets to take him down. Ferdinand Marcos Jr, the late Ferdinand Marcos- son is now the current the President, and he is doind a great job.

Theres something that i want to point out, the Spanish Empire didn't conquered the entire philippine archiepelago. The moro tribes in some parts of mindanao retained their soveriegnty and freedom from the Spanish, they only occupy some parts of mindanao like davao zamboanga etc. but not the whole mindanao! Oh also the Cordillera region, the igorots also retained their freedom there
reply

not all in the Philippines are colonize by the spaniards. for example the IGOROTS. never colonized never been under the authority of spain. a news emerge that they are not consider or will never be a filipino because of that. still civilized but not colonized.
reply

I still remember what I learned in school - despite the atrocities and abuse of authority by the Spaniards, they introduced Christianity to Filipinos, making the Philippines the most Christianized country in Asia. I can't imagine myself not being Christian.
reply

Sulu was never Conquered. you got your source wrong.
the only people who conquered Sulu are the Americans on 1900's.
namely the Bud Dajo Massacre and Bud Bagsak Massacre.
Sulu people fought Spaniards, Japanese and Americans.

The Philippines has a very diverse culture from years of colonizations from INDIANS, INDONESIANS, MALAYS, ARABS, SPANISH, BRITISH, AMERICANS AND JAPANESE. Its here where you find LITERALLY EAST MEETS WEST CULTURE CLASH.
reply

The only country that was given a name by colonialists and no longer has a culture, their original culture is still maintained a little bit in the middle and the south, and the north has lost its identity.
reply

As someone who-s Mexican, it-s very surprising that some Native Mexicans actually fought with native Philippines and some actually stated there! Didn-t know our history and culture was this connected!
reply

Just echoing the sentiments of -darienthevolcanoman8624 here, the omission of the Philippine-American war was a bit curious. In the past colonial history of the PI this needed to be included.
reply

History happens for centuries in Philippines, you just explained it in 12 minutes. Not a resourceful info for those want to fully understand. It's useful for people who wants a quick briefing.

reply

So mali pala ang sinasabi ng mga Muslim na ang mga Pilipino raw ay originally mga muslim, eh nauna pa pala dumating mga Hindus or indians kesa sa kanila.
