How did the Mongols Destroy Baghdad in 1258? This is why I loved the old Assassin-s Creed games and why I love the new one, Mirage, because they take inspiration from the real cities in which the games take place. They also try to add as many real historical figures as they can.
If it weren-t for AC mirage I wouldn-t have known about the house of wisdom and I probably wouldn-t have been as interested in this video. And as an American I really didn-t know anything about the Abbassid Caliphate but know thanks to a video game sparking my interest I-ve learned a lot about it and how while Europe was going through the dark ages after Western Rome-s collapse, the east was going through a golden age of science and learning.\r\n

Abbasids killed and massacred so many people including Jewish, christians, Buddhists and others to establish the caliphate. And ironically the karma came back as the Mongol army. And after rounding up and before killing everyone the mongol general Hulagu Khan said - We are the punishment of god, if you havent sinned before we would not have come-. They killed so many people that soldiers were tired of killing and had to sleep and wake up before continuing. Muslims lost the greatest knowledge center of the world at that time as well as the most sacred bloodline of prophet Mohammed were too wiped out by Mongols by killing the Caliph.

We Americans have destroyed more than Mongols - Baghdad and Basra were bombed to rubble during 2 gulf wars. The muslim leaders deserve it. It is a pity what their once mighty empire now stands - they cannot even fight and win against 7-9 million Jews of Israel. Strangely enough the strongest muslim nation is Pakistan today. WIth the rise of China and (India to some extend, muslims will be reduced to nothing in the next 100-200 years. A backward religion of desert cult worshippers cannot compete with modern civilizations.

Vultures Hyenas Jackals are they in Reality and not a single Good Thing in them at all. Mongols only did Balance that Cruelty and Brutal Power and Learned them this Staunch Lesson that no body is forever Powerful and Brutal and Cruel. And by the way there's nothing to Learn and there are no Good Things to find in them. You can see this Today, just give them a Chance even Accidentally, they are Ready to Finish other Religion and Culture.

Territory of Korea was never conquered. 5 Mongol-Korea wars, not once Korea lost. Not until Kublai Khan did Mongol and Korea agreed to treaty which was much in Korean favor and demand. Mongol was next door neighbor to Korea, and mongol military was not stretched thin by distance. Korea fought Mongols might, and as noted by Mongol history, Koreans were hardest to fights.

Mongul and USA the worest and most barberian countries in history ever, two of them distroy baghdad the knowledge and grows on blood. No one knows how long the dark age we are in will last. The fall of the Soviets was truly the collapse of all hopes for humanity and their entry into the mercy of a bloody, barbaric state like America.

They Ayyubid dynasty had fallen 1250, it was the Mamluk sultanate that held power during that time, unlike the image the video shows. And their rule was not fragmented, so the focused on themself than to aid fellow muslims against mongols, but that did change when the mogols went closer to Egypt and suffered their first big setback.

Before attacking abbasid territory, Mongols utterly crushed seljuk turks at the Battle of Kosedag in 1243 A. D. They literally tamed them and gave a lesson about who was the true master of horse archery warfare. After that battle, seljuk sultanate became a vassal to the Mongols.

The Abbasid leadership at that time had excluded the Arabs in its policy and in its army in retaliation for their firm loyalty to the Umayyad, so the Abbasid power dependent on non-Arabs was an easy prey for the Mongol armies.

A video should be made on Bhaktiyar Khilji and other invaders like him who were religious fanatics extremist radicals who destroyed ancient universities in India like famous Nalanda where people from many countries studied

Baghdad was never the same again. I heard that despite Baghdad's later recovery, it never managed to reach the zenith used to be. Therefore, this has become the greatest tragedy of Arab civilisation.

In it's astonishing power centralization and faithless rationalism, the Khalifa empire consumed arabic world's resources and vitality as civilization, make it rip for slaughter.

It's rather Persian Golden Age. Would someone call it Christian Golden Age, Jewish Golden Age or Hindu Golden Age when great discoveries or inventions were made in the past?

If the Mamluks intervened and strong like during battle of Ain Jalut, that --might-- save Baghdad from destruction, and may make our science much more advanced than today

As a Christian believer, it makes sense to me now why the doctrine of Jihad like that is because of the invasion of the Mongols. Thank you for the wonderful content.

Knowing the abassids had the habit of raiding europe to take white Christian men away as slaves and white Christian women as concubines I have no sympathy for them

Muslims should learn from this curse that befell them. Unfortunately they-re still weak. They-re getting killed all around the world and can-t even help one another.
reply

These muslim clowns had done similar destruction at Nalanda. Hence, justice was served. They got the same treatment that they deserved from the Mongols.
reply

And also the Mumluk Dynasty of the Muslims defeated the Mongols for 60 years. And put a permanent End to Mongol invasion or conquer of the world.
reply

Muslims did the same to Nalanda and Taxila universities in India. The library of Nalanda was burning for weeks. 6000 monks were massacred.
reply

Between this and the loss of the Library of Alexandria. how much further along would humanity be if neither of these events occurred?
reply

And these very same Muslims went on to destroy the greatest of the greatest, the Nalanda University, which burned for SIX months

Really hoping Assassin's Creed Mirage has a helix glitch that sends you 400 years into the future to the fall of the round city.
