Guptas controlled only north indian but the whole india subcontinent was in their dominance, they didnt captured whole india because it would be too costly to rule, so they let local rulers rule under their dominance, the trubutary states paid taxes to guptas for which, they provided them with safety of the gupta army, they really unified the whole indian subcontinent

I don't know why but Indian Hindu kings always used to fight with each other, they could never unite and remained a slave of muslims or christians whereas if you see other christian and Muslim empire they have empire of 500-1000 years. They came in power after a long time in 1947. Also the most majority of traitors is found in the ancient Indian empires

U are presenting everything wrongly, indian caste hinduism has not started operating during Gupta's, they weren't Hindus, they were Jain's and Buddhists. Brahmanism was kept outside, they weren't the most respected in any score. . Gupta empire was really the brain child of Chanakya.
