Outside of the scripting error for Toledo, got a few minor quips. As the networks expanded along Michigan, you went over the lakes into the UP. Ferries were frequent there, but you made it look like there was a rail bridge, which there wasn't. The Mackinaw Bridge was built in 1954, and then was the largest suspension bridge in the world. This bridge is one of our icons of the state too, one my favorite license plate variants as well, the Great Lakes Splendor.
Also with Toledo, that was a pretty big event for the region. The two regions were literally about to go to war over that strip and had forces ready for it. A Michigander even got injured in the process. It's also quite a cultural point here too, part of the while Michigan vs Ohio rivalry, though really we do make really good rivals in college football.
Smaller point, First governor was the 'kid' governor Stevens T. Mason. Age 23 when elected, 24 when assumed. and died at 31 from phenomena. in New York. Youngest ever governor in the US.
Detroit is also really rebuilding since that bankruptcy, something not really needed to say but something I feel like saying. Lots of renovations and projects all over the area, which have had pretty positive reception. as long as the Renaissance Center demolition doesn't go through. Love a new bridge, love revitalization old areas and rebuilding abandoned ones. but the Ren Cen is an icon.
All this though, I did like the video a lot. Especially the natives and French periods.

My home state! The older I get, there's much more appreciation and lack of desire to live anywhere else. Few tornados, earthquakes, fires, floods, or any other threat from nature that could wipe out everything in a moment. We get blizzards and snow, but are usually safe as long as you can stay inside when it's too cold.

9: 25 to 9: 35 the voice script is completely wrong made more surpising by the fact the written bullet points are correct and contradict what is said. It should be granted to Ohio not granted to michigan( in exchange for the upper penninsula as the written bullet points say.

Unmentioned video fact (UNACCEPTABLE): There are (allegedly) 200 wineries in the state of Michigan! That somehow make it the 7th highest producer of wine in the US How come I haven't found Michigan wines then Gonna have to think about a trip in 2026 or 2027 then.

How you gonna talk about Michigan history and not explain how they got the Upper Peninsula
For those that don’t know, Michigan got the upper peninsula in return for giving up the Toledo strip (the border dispute that was mentioned with Ohio)

reply

Ohio received the Toledo Strip and Michigan received the Upper Peninsula as a consolation. How do get that so wrong Really, it’s the most important event in the history of the state and you couldn’t get it right! Awful.
reply

Besides glossing over the acquisition of the U. P, ye forgot to even mention the huge furniture industry in West Michigan, mainly Grand Rapids. And every cereal eating kid in the world knows what goes on in Battle Creek.

fun fact. Bluejacket was a white man who voluntarily left his parent's farm to become adopted into his tribe. His name comes from the blue jacket he was wearing when he left with the indians.

Well I lived and grew up there and I can tell you it's a major s hole. All the cities that are no go unless you got a bulletproof vehicle. It's pure gangland
reply

Correction: To solve to cinflict with Ohio over the Toledo strip, the strip was granted to Ohio and in exchange Michigan received the Upper Peninsula.
