Wow what a fascinating story. Who would have thought that longstanding capitalistic and imperialist rivalries and entangling military alliances among European nations would spark a massive global conflict that would reshape the world order as we know it and the losing nation would end up totally humiliated and seeking revenge in the years to come, which would later lead to more devastating consequences in the future.
Oh well, I'm sure Europe learned it's lesson from this mess and this would never happen again.

Amazing how countries used to be able to recruit hundreds of thousands of people into their respective armies and yet, nowadays, struggle to match those numbers despite advances in technology, better health and much bigger populations.

So not sure if I am misreading the map or you said this and I missed it. How come you show Austria and HRE as two separate entities when Austria is the big duchy of the HRE and isn’t the elector of Austria the emperor of HRE

Today I was reading Niall Ferguson's book on British history and he briefly touched upon the Seven Years' War, which made me very curious. What a coincidence, the video was right on time. You are a life saver

Chancellor Kaunitz of Austria/Bohemia should have been mentioned. He was the mastermind of the Diplomatic Revolution who envisioned and worked on the alliance with France long before the Treaty of Westminster.

What a coincidence, I was in Germany the other day and visited Fredrick the Great’s Sans, Soucci castle in Potsdam.
Fredrick is arguably one of my favourite personalities of German history.

If France had won the world it would be very different, but it is very likely that the independence of the USA would have occurred.
