What Happens to Our Brains When We Kill?

I have a theory based on no qualification so take it with a pinch of salt, I don't think it's because we are hard wired to never kill as that would be ridiculous. However, I think as we have evolved and have such a complex brain and, more importantly, extremely complex emotions in comparison to; lets say a Tiger, so of course when a Tiger kills to eat/territory/cruelty it will obviously will never be affected afterwards because it most likely doesn't have the mental capability to process complex emotions such as empathy which directly correlates with guilt. Whereas humans have such complex brains that if we don't have a genuine reason to kill and we can't convince ourself it needed to happen, then it all boils down to that one emotion which is empathy.
You kill an enemy soldier and then see a picture of his children, wife and parents or maybe just discover his name. Suddenly, you may feel like you're in the wrong, because by giving the title of soldier you de-humanise that person and as soon as you find out his name or see his family, you begin to see things you both have in common and realise it's just another human who is a father/son to someone out there just like you are to your parents/children. You begin to empathise not only with the soldier, but his loved ones too and you might then feel terrible and like a murderer.
In conclusion, our strongest asset could be seen as a downfall with all the complex emotions which may hinder our decision making, but if you look at it in a different light, maybe those complex emotions were the biggest evoloution we had; allowing us to collaborate with each other and form huge civilisations as we had all these new emotions letting us to better our decision making and team work.

The fact emerged from this research made me quite upset. It's right (sorry for the term but I'm no english speaker) to shoot an enemy (and when you do especially at close range you riddle with lead his body as mush as you can) just because in warfare it's like me or you. Basically you eliminate someone who will do the same with you. But months or years later, how the heck you can look at his face and feel no remorse? Such a mindset is like ethnic cleansing, when you have no guilt at all. somebody may cheers upon killed enemies, and of course, innocents and civilians

When you have enough EXP, your LOVE increases. LOVE, too, is an acronym. It stands for 'Level of Violence. ' A way of measuring someone's capacity to hurt. The more you kill, the easier it becomes to distance yourself. The more you distance yourself, the less you will hurt. The more easily you can bring yourself to hurt others.

duuuuuuude you've gotta prep better for these videos. You're tripping over most of the technical words, and it appears that you have so little of an intuitive understanding of the material in this one, that you were forced to just read paraphrases of the 1 journal article you cited. And reading out those sentences came off as stumbly and awkward.
I'm not saying the content is bad! I somewhat liked the video; you just need to prepare waaaay more than this

Can you write out your script in the details section? I could barely understand what you were saying. Also, you're only talking about one study of images? Hasn't there been studies on serial killers or one time offenders? You're focusing on the frontal cortex I think? I don't even know cuz I can't understand you. If that's the case though, isn't that incomplete? I'm sorry, you need to do this video over.

i always burst out laughing. because yes that it obviously true. however, it as if the person that im killing ONLY realizes that i AM crazy damn near 20 minutes after the torturing.
also, why do non religious people cry out to God while they're being killed?

I'm surprised that I never killed anyone because I was tortured. I was raped. I've been harassed by a cult all of my life. There was a time when I could have done it, but some strange force stopped me, and I am glad of it. People will target you. People will gang up against you. I'm still glad that I never took anyone's life. I love nice people.

These are average people being documented though. I'm guessing you put a psychopath in there and you'd have little to no emotional response on any of it. I can't count how many times my brother tried to kill me growing up, and today he openly talks about it while laughing. saying his only regret was he didn't succeed.
