JUNO
i remember being so carefree and talkative as a child, but as i got older, people started to say rude things (and i remember rude things more than compliments) to me and i started to get ignored when i talked.
so im a junior and i have one friend whos an extrovert and i have 0 idea how to get rid of her. I never wanted to be her friend but i was too scared to say anything. she can be nice sometimes, but other times she forced me to be an extrovert and go out more.
i also lost my friend group but i never considered them friends. they were just friends of a friend, and i lost her too. they never payed attention to what i had to say so i stayed silent and i could tell that i was boring to them. and when one person leaves, and im left with one friend, it was just awkward silence or i would try so hard to be outgoing.
my mom is the only one who understands me, but she does challenges me to open up a little bit more. im kind of sensing that shes an introvert as well bc she cant be out in the world for too long.
as for my dad, he doesnt like to be alone. he likes going out to parties (and he caught Corona being out as well)
i doubt anyone read this far. but i had to get that out.

Okay, so I know I'm like five years late, but I do need some advice from the internet, so please read this whole thing and maybe try to help?
I'm an extrovert, and I have no problem talking to people at all. My cousin is an introvert, and she hardly talks to people she doesn't know. Which is totally fine, according to me. A lot of times, she says, you're weird, who just randomly talks to random people? because I like saying hi to little kids I meet in the park or make small talk with people in the elevator. I just like socially interacting, and she says it as a joke, so I don't take it seriously. I technically do the same thing, kind of tell her (in a joking manner) that there's nothing wrong with interacting and SHE'S the weird one.
Now, I don't mean to insult her. She jokes about my extroverted character and I do the same about her introversion. But a lot of people in the comments are saying they don't like it when extroverts say the exact things I say to my cousin. Although I understand her character and would never judge it, I do like to joke, just like she does. I need some opinions from actual introverts. Would you be offended?

Say otherwise if you think Im wrong but I do believe that stepping out of your comfort zone, no matter if youre an extrovert or introvert, makes you more comfortable with stepping out of your comfort zone. As someone who is an introvert and extrovert I know this is true for myself. I dont make myself or let my friends or acquaintances ask me to do something I feel that I wont like, but I know that after practicing stepping out of my comfort box and who I thought I was, I could be whoever I want to be. I think balance is key and good for learning about yourself and others.

all i know is that im introverted and my friends dont understand me. On a chat im on with them, they all think I hate discussions and cant take a joke, even tho it is actually the exact opposite. Unfortunately no matter how much I try to explain this they turn around and tell me im wrong. I should leave the chat, but i am staying because of the one friend i actually joined it for in the first place.

My number one problem with extroverts is GIVE ME MY SPACE. Some people just can't seem to understand how I hate small talk and hate it when they push themselves too hard to talk to me when I don't want to. I'll talk to you when I feel like it. My space is everything to me so if someone takes that away from me, it become annoying and instead of getting closer to me I'll just pull away from you.

Being pushed to become more extroverted rarely ever works. It usually just makes us introverts embarrassed and uncomfortable. An exception is when you get adopted by a trusted extrovert who understands you. It can be very valuable to be pushed a bit outside of your comfort zone, but it has to be with someone who makes you comfortable doing so, and knows when to push and when not to push.

I'm an introvert who has learnt to get out there and mix with people and am comfortable with pretty much anything now, but I still find myself doing this for fellow introverts. But it's an amazing experience to get an introvert so comfortable that they appear to be an extrovert for a day (until the next day, when they go quiet again and evaluate what just happened and recharge.

I'm introverted and number 3 summed up the whole video for me, wishing others would just get it. People said something is wrong with me cause I don't want friendships, but they don't understand. I can be a friend, but if you push for more than I can give and want to see me more than once a year, that makes me overwhelmed and I will disappear LOL.

i have this best friend who is really obnoxious most of the time. interrupting, not listening, etc. but the fact that i somehow have managed to cope with it really surprises me. i often reject there calls/ messages. but only at home. i dont know how im still alive and how i can actually cope with them and not anyone else with the same case.

before i thought that i was rude and not caring for my friends just because there are times that i don't feel like hanging out with them nor doesn't love the idea of them coming over to my house. Though i envy my classmates' bond like going out there and being happy, i somehow loved to be alone. i get emotionally drained, idk why

Most of my family members are a bit introverted, but I'm the extreme introvert. Even though my mom is an introvert too, she thinks it's bad for me to not be more social and she always tells me to go out more. But that's just not me. I'm perfectly comgortable with staying home most of the time

I'm only a +3 extrovert, but extroverts do find introverts interesting. Extroverts often have one if not both feet in our mouths. The solution for both verts is to have a heart for the other. If you cannot find tracks to your heart, it is then narcissism.

The #3 is just so true! Because we, as an introvert, wants to know first the people who we want to be close with, that why it's an unsaid rule for us not to disturb that solitude that we want with, atleast, the one we trust, which is you.

One of the main things I appreciate as an introvert is if u don't interrupt my conversation if I'm not talking to u: ) its already so hard for me to open up and yet you interrupt me when I talk during the time I open up? Well.

Whats annoying is when people randomly ask to hangout without any good reason but to feed off of an introverts energy. They think something is wrong with you when you prefer being alone as if you dont have a life of your own

As an intovert. Another thing is: If an introverts energy empty don't think he/she have some problem you must solve/help. Just leave him/her alone to regain energy. If he/she fill up with energy he will be ok again. :)
