I pretty much do all of these things and it works well for me. I take notes during class and lectures, making sure that they are detailed enough for me to remember exactly what the teacher said. Towards the end of the course (the last two weeks or so, I make a summary of those notes, and if there is a ton of material, I end up cherry picking the most important stuff. Starting of learning that and then moving on learning more if I have more time. I check it to make sure that it's correct and then I start memorizing it like a script, repeating it to myself over and over, explaining what I have learned.
Learning math and physics is a little bit different. In that case, the script you should practice is a summary of all possible formulas you have been taught. Because, in both math and physics, the more formulas you know, the easier it will be to figure out which one it is you will have to use in order to solve the problem.
Another thing which is crucial is the environment in which you choose to study. I like to sit in some dark abandoned corner of the library, in a park, or in the woods. It is also important for me to leave me phone and portable wifi at home since I'm there to study (Also, having the mindset of ok, I'm here to study, and I have these insert reasonable goals I would really like to complete before I can go home, can really help as well.

11. Listening in class, taking notes while the teacher speaks and knowing what exactly you need to know is half the work
12. Visualize EVERYTHING. I visualize the heart while I am learning about it's structure but you visualize dates and history too, making a colored graph in your head, associating color or shaoes with terms and dates
13. Learning another language or complicated words? Mnemonics! Associate the pronounciation with the meaning in story (for example, I learn Japanese and the word for tree is ki so I imagine a tree with a keyhole, complicated words you can split into sound chunks that sound like something you know so you can develope a story
14. Repetitio est mater studiorum. Spaced repetition! It is not enough to repeat a hundred times after learning, you have to take breaks. Repeat it in the morning then again in the afternoon and again before bed and so on. That's why it is important to learn several days beforehand, even things that are hard to remember would just stick in your mind and you will recall it without effort. Even if you learn just the night before the exam make little breaks, to eat or something, or learn another lesson and then repeat the first

Be curious. Being curious is actually a skill. If you can get yourself curious about a mundane topic and ask yourself, and others, questions like why is that true/false? You will automatically understand the subject and not just recite facts.
Learn how you learn best. I understand things better if I have circles and arrows and other movement diagrams. Once I have the basic picture I focus in on a particular area and try to understand everything about the particular box. Other people do better with sounds and rhythmic words, and some need to understand the physical sensations and movements. Most of us are a combination of these things, The key is to know how you know things.

1st - read every freaking exam or test that has been made for that particularly class you're taking - you'll understand what the professor wants you to know and how he wants it presented.
2nd - read someone else notes and yours (fairly fast - don't waste too much time) so you know the subject in general
3rd - go straight to those focal points that you know are gonna be for sure asked and study them hard - know all the ins and outs of those key points
4th - reread the exams and solve them mentally
5th - talk about whatever you know of the subject out loud to yourself
6th - retake one of those tests or exams as if you were in the exam (no consultation; time yourself)

I also think it's really important to get to know what works for you. Are you the sort who finds a radio or TV playing in the background to be helpful or distracting? What about tools like flip cards or word games? Maybe your particular study time could even be in conjunction with other memorable activities such as art or sport, learning at the same time. Everyone's mind is different and you're the only one who can identify what particular styles of study work for you. Try different things and see what works best for you!

Im in the middle of my leaving cert right now this helped a lot. :3
My advice would be if anxiety is taking over take a small break do something fun maybe exercise to relieve the stress then begin studying again.
Staying hydrated is also important because it keeps your head and thoughts clear
positive visualisation will also help as it will relieve anxiety and going into an exam with a positive mentality will improve how you view the questions, my mom always said prepare for the worst but expect the best.

I sometimes study during exams, but mostly I rely on my stock knowledge. Just listen to your teacher and understand what they're teaching.
My classmates usually memorize what they read and not learn from it. I can survive the exams just from reading something once or twice then I'm done. I'm ready.
Just don't stress yourself, I'm not a scientist but I think if you stress yourself during the exams you'll most likely have a mental block which sucksssssss.

Another way to study that really helps me is dual coding. It involves using different methods to help with your studying, like drawing and creating flow charts for your work. If you research it, it'll come up with a better explanation than I can give, ha.
Personally, I like to draw out my key facts alongside the work or make funny comics that express exactly what needs to be learnt, and it actually helps to remember them.
Hope this helps!

My tip is to have a medium level of stress during the exam so you are not bored and almost sleeping but also not sweating and shivering from stress. If you imagine it as a graph with your stress level on the x-axis and your performance on the y-axis, it is like a steep mountain with its peak at the middle of the positive side of the x-axis.

For number one don't do thirty minutes of sleep ever, do an hour. I know you are losing some time but if it's just 30 mins it will interrupt the REM cycle leaving you feeling more tired than you did before where's an hour will leave you feeling more rested because it completes a R. E. M. Cycle

School is just a resume of human research.
In other words, there will be a point in the future where it will be impossible to study everything and we'll be stuck with using references.
Too bad we aren't in the future.

I find it really helpful to have a clean and organized space to study so I'm comfortable and not distracted. I also make sure I'm wearing comfy clothes and am drinking enough.
I had my last exam today yay

When it comes to remembering alot of country names, I like to form words with the first letter of each of them, so I only have to remember the word. Exemple: Canada Australia Spain Italie and France= Casif

I think if you've been doing the work and showing up for classes consistently all semester, the test should in theory be no problem, because that way you have all ready learned the material.

as a medical student, i found it easier to study with associations. so i usually plan the sessions while creating bridges to every topic. And yes, taking naps are very effective for me.
